“Friendly hosts, excellent views, relaxing stay!” We stumbled across Stones Cottage Farm by accident when looking for a very last minute break. After reading it was a chicken farm we were initially a little apprehensive about noise and smells, but we needn't have worried! Despite the chickens and being alongside the main Hebden Bridge to Oxenhope Road the property was very tranquil with beautiful views front and rear. If anything, I felt the property description overplayed the noise. Andrew and his family who own the property and live in the farm house next door were very accommodating whilst not intrusive, providing fresh eggs from the farm, logs for the fire, wifi, dvd's and offering various activities on the farm for children and adults alike. With a 3 month old baby we weren't able to make the most of what was on offer but I'm sure slightly older children would have loved the chicks and geese. The cottage had been recently refurbished, very clean and very well equipped, with a comfy living/dining area and good size beds. The bathroom was the only slight disappointment but was clean and functional, if not quite up to 5 star standard. Plenty to do in the area to fill a four day stay. Would definitely recommend.
