"Mutton dressed as lamb"

We arrived at this property abs were greeted by the owner who showed us around and left us to it which was nice. The apartment was lovely and warm and cosy and very well presented, it appeared clean a… More

I’m a very proud conscientious owner ,unfortunately during a six week period of incapacity due to a broken ankle I had a the misfortune to have already engaged in my employ a very erratic , unreliable and irresponsible cleaner ,who unfortunately due to my circumstances I had no choice but to entrust completely with the management and cleaning of my properties. The knocks on effect and consequences of this have been unbelievably damaging. If only this customer who had a genuine complaint, had come to me direct (as I live on site), or contact me by text, phone or email I could have discovered the terrible problems that were developing, I could have put them right immediately and made amense. Instantly their stay would have been comfortable and enjoyable but by taking this route this very discerning and valuable customer has lost out. In defence of the property I have had no complaints from anyone before or after this guest about the shower, it appears to work perfectly without being touched which is good, also there are three forms of lighting around the hot tub, decking lights (lights set in the decking) a subtle over head light and tea lights in holders which surround the hot tub all of which have been in place since the hot tub was installed 6 years ago. . The sofa- as you can see from the images on the website are Victorian, they came with the house I had them reupholstered in fire proofed material as I feel they look fantastic, again in the past 8 years that I have been welcoming guests I have not had a negative comment about them, if however you were after a deep, all embracing lounger, I feel sure you could tell from the advertising photos that these would not be for you. The hot tub is situated in the garden on decking under a large oak, its position chosen for its ambiance and views, unfortunately bits do fall from the trees when the hot tub is being used and the lid is off, from other comments it would appear most appreciate the positives of the location and the views above the odd bit of debris however I do appreciate that others will not. As for filthy Dirty …even given the cleaner and manager at the time I do feel ‘flirty dirty’ would have to be a tad strong .hygiene management of the hot tub is vital to the well being of the users and such is taken extremely seriously, in the six years of use no guest has been ill or had skin reactions and the tub was not due for a clean at the time. . Building work in the property next door, unfortunately I have no control over the goings on of my neighbour He is a DIY man who has been ‘doing up his property’ for the past nine years occasionally he does get a drill out but it would be impossible to predict if and when this might happen and as such its impossible to pre warn visitors. Usually his antics are indoors out of sight and sound.. ‘Outside in the bushes in the front garden there was a toilet roll holder’ absolutely correct on my return to full control I did indeed find a rather rusty and neglected loo roll holder! most definitely the erratic behaviour of my ex cleaner, this is unacceptable and I do most wholeheartedly apologise The kettle- again this is not something that has been mentioned to me by previous guests or those after this guests stay, I have done nothing to fix the kettle, as I found no fault I specifically asked others guests if it is working properly and they have said yes so this is simply plain weird …it is now some months after this guest left and the kettle still continues to function as it should. ‘The apartment was to begin with very warm and cosy but it got the point where it was unbearably hot and we could not sleep at night but there was no way to turn it down even with all the radiators we could change turned down it was still stifling Overall what started as a beautiful cottage apartment ended up being a bit of a disappointment and we were glad to leave in the end’ If only I had been told. Resolving this was as simple as turning a knob! On analysis every single one of these so called complaints where resolvable instantly which might have returned their ‘disappointment’ back into the vision they first had when they walked through the door .Please if you have a gripe with us owners, tell us directly. We love our properties and we need your comments to help us improve. A few honest words spoken in the right ear at the right time can improve your experience ,a few comments left in this way can cripple our businesses over night please have a care of the power you hold. Yvette Martin proud owner
