“Brilliant, fantastic location, modern, spacious and ultimately an extremly relaxing and rejuvenating experience.” With my husband and daughter in tow we set out for our long stay at 'River Bank Cottage'. We booked our holiday online and having never been to England before, we had no idea of what was going to greet us. Happy to say it was so much better than anything we could have envisaged. Robert met us at the train station for the short walk to the cottage, which on arrival was just gorgeous, the gardens were stunning. We walked straight down to check out the river and summerhouse, wow! Over our break we spent many hours sitting out there in the sun just watching the river flow by. The cottage was fantastic, its modern décor and furnishings were just lovely, its was still cool when we arrived so the heating and gas fire were well used and enjoyed. Being thoughtfully well equipped, you would not need to bring anything on your break at the cottage, loads of books, games, movies, music, fishing rods, it was absolutely brilliant. As a base for our holiday in the Yorkshire area, we were able to venture in any direction for fantastic day trips, we used both the local train/bus services and our own car to get about as well as just talking off and walking around the scenic area. You can find fantastic food in all directions, the 2 local pubs, both in walking distance, had great trivia nights and the nursery/café a couple of doors down was well frequented by us, we would recommend the breakfast, it was so yummy and the cakes, divine. Delighted to say we have made some great friendships in the area, us travel rookies were a great source of entertainment to the locals who helped us out with some fantastic holiday ideas and advise. Thankyou Tracey and Robert for the memories, we can't thank you enough for our brilliant holiday in your beautiful cottage, we are honoured to be able to highly recommend this location for a fabulous getaway or longer stay.
