The Scotland region

North Ayrshire is approximately 1 hour from Glasgow and takes in the coastal area from Largs down to Ayr.

Fantastic golfing and outdoor activities.

The Isle of Arran can also be used as a step towards exploring the other Scottish West coast islands and Kintyre..

The passenger ferry has recently been re introduced to Ballycastle in Northern Ireland.

Torbeg

The Isle of Arran is known as "Scotland In Miniature". It offers a variety of landscapes which in turn lend themselves to a host of activities.

Hill walks, beach walks, and cross country walks can be taken in beautiful locations and for the more adventurous there are numerous mountain challenges. The Island attracts many cyclists who are happy to enjoy their activity on the relatively quieter roads. There are a number of meetings that take place throughout the year.

There are 7 golf courses on the island ranging from family friendly 9 holes to 18 hole courses that will provide a good test for the serious player. For the "box tickers" amongst the golfing fraternity a ticket can be purchased allowing one round at all 7 courses.

The local Golf club at Shiskine also has Tennis Courts and a Bowling Green. There is a local Riding School within 15 minutes walk and as well as Sea Fishing a small Trout Farm within 30 minutes walk.

For "foodies" the Island produces its own cheeses, ice creams, herbs, tender Arran lamb, free range eggs, and of course The Arran Ale Brewery and Lochranza Distillery cater for those who enjoy world class products produced with care.

Children are well catered for. As well as the sandy beaches there are indoor pools should the weather turn. Playparks, Farm Parks, Castles and Riding Schools will ensure they are well exercised and entertained.

Within a 15 minute walk of the property there are 2 hotels offering tasty meals and vibrant bars. The Golf Club also serves meals and in common with quite a few establishments has a byob policy.

To summarise, whether it is a family holiday, a relaxing break or a golfing trip, our property is the perfect base for you.

“Wonderful Getaway”

Reviewed 27 Jun 2016

The lodge is perfect for a family, friends or just a couple. Very clean and tidy with a real homely feel. The ensuite master bedroom looks out on to the grounds to a giant pine tree where I spotted a red squirrel very early one morning. The wildlife is great, rabbits jumping about the lawn and a toad joined us one evening on the decking. The showers are 5 star. The Kitchen has EVERYTHING you could need for a long or short stay, utility room and dishwasher make for an even more relaxing time. A wee cycle down to Blackwaterfoot for some ice cream is a must. There's so much more to do, we went to do nothing and the lodge totally caters for that, a huge TV and sky was useful to watch Glastonbury. There are lodges nearby but not too close. Allan was very helpful and communications were excellent. Will definitely recommend to friends and book again.

“Lovely house in a peaceful location.”

Reviewed 21 Apr 2013

This property is in a quiet location within the Torbeg lodges development, a short drive from Blackwaterfoot. It is very well equipped, clean and warm. A bright open plan living / dining / kitchen was a nice social space with lovely views of the well maintained grounds and hills beyond. Two double bedrooms had good storage, the third not so much. The bakery & butcher in the village have excellent produce. We also visited the lovely Cafe Thyme and our daughters had a great time at the nearby Cairnhouse Stables. Lots of super walks within a short distance - try Kings Cave & the Machrie standing stones. Overall a great holiday in a very comfortable property.

“Fantasic New Year on Arran”

Reviewed 12 Jan 2013

We stayed at Jacqui and Allan's lodge at Torbeg for a few days over New Year . What can we say- beautiful views , great locale and most of all their accomodation is first class. Everything you can imagine is there for you to make your stay extremely comfortable. The owners were very attentive from when we made our initial enquiry through to return of keys ! We have no hesitation in rebooking .

“Accomodation of an A1 standard.”

Reviewed 28 Oct 2012

Ideally situated for walks into Blackwater foot and all the local facilities. Would recommend a vist to the Kinloch Hotel where food is resonably priced , and dogs are allowed in the bar area. Accomodation is suitable for those with mobility issues, and is situated in a very tranquil atmosphere. All your needs are catered for in the lodge and it is kitted out to a very high standard. Alan the owner makes himself readily available by mobile phone . My in laws who have been to Arran on numerous occasions over the last twenty five years say this is one of the best accomodations they have stayed at. Highly Recommneded.

“Fantastic Break”

Reviewed 11 Sep 2012

The lodge was fantastic, immaculate and equiped to an extremely high standard. The location was great, with stunning views, peaceful and just what we needed for some R&R. Blackwaterfoot beach was a short walk away and Brodick ferry terminal was an easy drive away. Allan was great to deal with and gave easy to follow instructions to find the property. Although this was our first visit to Arran, it certainly won't be the last and we wouldn't stay anywhere else.

“Ideal”

Reviewed 1 Sep 2012

A contemporary cottage with all the mod cons yet still homely. Peaceful, and beautiful location with fantastic views, the ideal get away on a beautiful Island. Excellent service and attention from owners. Lovely harbour area just a walk away and a country feel too. We would most certainly return, and look forward to it. Thanks to Allan and Jacqui !!

“Excellant Location”

Reviewed 11 Aug 2012

Spent a great week in Arran first time there but it won't be our last. Angely was an excellent accomadation with everything you would expect plus some welcome extras like wifi in a very peacefull location. Accomadation was very clean and spacious and in an excellant location with beautiful views from the front porch. Short trip down to Blackwaterfoot itself with shops and local hotel. Great walk along to the kings cave and road goes all round island where we stopped off at many lovely locations for walks along the many qiuet beaches or into the hills. Would have no hesitation recommending using Angely as a base for any visit to Arran.

“Home from Home...Perfect Base to Discover Arran!”

Reviewed 1 Jun 2012

Fantastic holiday lodge with gorgeous views over the Shiskine Valley. Just a few minutes walk from the gorgeous beach at Blackwaterfoot. This was our first visit to the Isle of Arran and we absolutely loved both the island and this accommodation. The lodge itself is spacious and has everything you could need and more - the Sky TV and Wi-fi were great for chilling out in the evening and planning the next's day's activities. We were really lucky with the weather so we also made great use of the decking and outdoor space in the evenings - amazing! Thanks also to Allan who was a pleasure to deal with! We can't recommend this accommodation highly enough and have already enquired about availability to revisit later in the year!
