“Lovely cottage” Spent a week at this lovely cottage...three adults and three children. It was spotlessly clean, spacious and well equipped with everything we needed. A real home from home. The location at the loch edge is outstanding and we enjoyed fishing and just taking in the view. It's located by the main road between Stornoway and Tarbert giving easy access to all parts of the island. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would book again if visiting the Hebrides.

“Lovely Cottage” We had a lovely week in Eranca Cottage. Angus & Agnes are a lovely couple, & made us feel very welcome. The cottage is in a brilliant position situated on a private road & right beside the side of the Loch. It was so close to all the main attractions on our list of must sees & not far from Stornaway. The cottage is warm, cosy , clean, modern & perfectly suited for a couple. The mini decanter of gin went down very well out on the decking in the evening and Angus’s sister in laws cakes were divine. Packed them up for walking treats. Just be aware everything on the island closes on Sunday. We were very lucky with the weather & the midges. All round brilliant holiday.

“Absolutely fabulous cottage in a stunning location in the hamlet of Borrowston near Carloway - my idea of heaven!” I have been planning to visit the Isles of Lewis/Harris for such a long time and I could not have found a more perfect base from which to explore the idyllic Outer Hebrides. Cliscro is a wonderful cottage, superbly equipped with everything you need - a real home from home. The views from the cottage are spectacular, especially at sunset. The owner, Eleanor, so very kindly baked a truly scrumptious cake, which was accompanied by a bottle of wine and chocolates on the bedside tables to welcome us. Such thoughtful special touches. In the immediate vicinity of the cottage, guests can visit the Doune Carloway Broch, the Garenin Blackhouse Village and the Callanish Stones. The waymarked Coastal Walk from the Blackhouse Village to Dalmore Beach is fantastic with incredible views. The Isles of Lewis and Harris boast stunning beaches with white sand and crystal clear turquoise sea. There are so many amazing beaches, that it's hard to choose a favourite. Bosta Beach on this island of Great Bernera probably just edged it to me, but Dalmore Beach and Dailbeag Beach on the Isle of Lewis, only 5 minutes from the cottage, are equally beautiful, as are Huisinis Beach and Luskentyre Sands on the Isle of Harris. For a night out whilst on the Island, HS-1 in Stornaway is an excellent, bright, welcoming restaurant with exceptional food very reasonably priced. It's very popular with local residents as well as visitors, so best to book although there are nice comfy areas with sofas where you can have a drink and wait for a table to become available if you haven't pre-booked. This holiday was my idea of absolute heaven, despite the fact that the weather was very much against us with a mix of heavy rain, sunny spells and a very strong cold wind for the whole week. It didn't detract from our enjoyment of this fabulous location, particularly as we could look forward to coming back to such a warm, welcoming holiday home at the end of each day. Thank you so much, Eleanor and Stuart, for an inforgettable holiday, made all the more special for being able to stay at your wonderful holiday home.

“Best holiday ever.” Although the weather was not the best every day the scenery, the accommodation and the welcome we received made our holiday. When the sun shines nowhere can beat this. Mind you even in the rain we loved our holiday. Thanks to Calum and Ann for there kind welcome. Will be back.

“Perfect setting for an active or lazy holiday.” Ease of booking, directions and map given. Croft House is warm, very comfortable and well equipped with good TV reception. The views from the cottage are outstanding with the atlandtic Ocean rolling in and out each day, and a wonderful skyline which changes constantly. Wind took some getting used to but didn't spoil the holiday for us. Not too remote and within easy reach of so many interesting locations. Most memorable for us were the beaches at ardroil and Bostadh, the reconstructed Iron age house, the Carloway Broch, the Butt of Lewis and the Calanais Stones, to mention a few. We only had time to explore the West Coast and I'm sure the Outer Hebrides will draw us back many times. Walking in the countryside was enjoyable with plenty of birdwatching for my husband and the sight of beautiful wild flowers for me, although I think we were at the end of the season for the machair. Our thanks to anne, Chris and Riley.
