“An oasis of peace and calm in understated luxury in an unrivaled location - perfect in every way.” Ullswater has got to be the loveliest of the lakes and turning off the main road to the private drive through woodland and an open field was an escape in itself. Then to find Far Boathouse right on the water's edge beckoning you in by a small bank covered in primroses was bliss. Everything inside made us feel at home - perfectly equipped and comfortable. The balcony overlooking the lake was ideal for breakfast, a "sun-downer" drink, some meditation and prayers and stargazing in a light pollution free environment. As with all others who have reviewed this place, thanks to Jayne, we were welcomed with bubbly, chocolates and rose petals on the bed. We walked each day and chose to eat out in the evening. We particularly liked 1863 Bistro in Pooley Bridge, We cannot recommend Far Boathouse more highly.
