“Imposing and elegant with capacity to spare” As imposing on the outside as it is elegant on the inside, this capacious townhouse manages to be both uncluttered and modern, yet warm and welcoming. Perhaps this was down to the huge kitchen which comfortably accommodated 8-10 for breakfast, especially with the back door open enabling people to wander in and out to the equally accommodating back garden with its diverse seating and dining arrangements. Or, perhaps it was the owner's happy knack of providing artwork for everyone but without disturbing the overall aesthetic. A superbly appointed playroom for the children, a dining/ living space for eating and lounging, a grand TV room to escape the throng, even a library with books a cut above the usual holiday crime thriller fare, this is a designer/boutique guesthouse to savour. Downside: the noise from the macerator in the downstairs loo. Surely that can be fixed!
