Cottage | 1 bedrooms | sleeps 4
The Retreat is a single apartment in a barn conversion above the pool room giving it wonderful views across the fields. The Retreat comprises a luxurious double bedroom with en-suite shower featuring a king size bed and Chinese furniture. A proper fold-out double bed settee allows extra sleeping in the sitting area. Double doors and a Juliet balcony give views across the croquet lawn. The fully equipped kitchen is tucked in the corner of the generous living area with flat screen TV, comfortable chairs and a dining table. A wide double-glazed glass screen leads to an elevated paved balcony with outdoor seating and distant views to the church and Wolferlow Court.
The large gardens are open each year (one day on 7 July 2013) for the National Garden Scheme and include an orchard, wildflower meadow with ponds, herbaceous borders and distant views across neighbouring farmland. Well away from any busy roads the property is peaceful and private.
Attention to detail includes the provision of top quality bed linen, towels and luxury towelling robes.
The Retreat is ideal for a couple looking for a romantic and luxury getaway or to bring the baby / younger children and enjoy a family time together. If the party is a little larger it is often possible to use double bedrooms in the main house on a B&B basis at a separate charge - please enquire with booking.

Wolferlow is a tiny hamlet comprising about 20 houses and farms with beautiful countryside and walking immediately on the doorstep. Birdwatching (72 species on the garden list), wildlife (badgers and foxes in the garden) and historic churches abound and short travels can take you to lots of interesting places (more details later).
The Retreat's highlight is the exclusive use of a 9m indoor heated swimming pool and a Finnish sauna. There's also a table tennis table and plenty of room to work out or practise pilates in the pool area. We can even arrange for you to have a personal trainer visit at extra cost by prior arrangement. Immediately outside the pool is a secluded sun terrace and garden for your exclusive use.
The Retreat is accessed by a single flight of 15 stone steps with metal handrail and is therefore, unfortunately, not suitable for wheelchairs. It will be suitable for others with some restricted mobility so long as they can cope with gravel garden paths and the steps.
The use of the swimming pool and sauna is subject to compliance with simple and clear instructions which form part of the booking contract. Copies are available on arrival.
Please note that the Owners (Stuart and Jill) live on-site at Wolferlow House. Mobile phone signal is weak so please always call on the home phone (and answerphone) for bookings.
