Hoppickers Barn 'RuralRetreat'
Barn | 2 bedrooms | sleeps 5
Quality in Tourism 4 star rated self catering property. Awarded Gold Rating November 2013 and Runner Up in the Destination Worcestershire Awards for Excellence.
The comfortable accommodation is located on the first floor of the barn with 2 bedrooms, I king size with extra bed (and cot space) and the 2nd bedroom can either be 3' twin beds or zip up to a super king. There is 1 family bathroom and the spacious living area is open plan under the original oak beams with a panoramic window overlooking the gardens. The Open plan area includes kitchen, dining room and large lounge area with 32" TV with freeview/DVD player/CD and Ipod docking station. Free WiFi connection
It is a very peaceful location suitable for a romantic getaway, a family break or a small group of friends to just relax, enjoy the many facilities or visit the nearby attractions within Worcestershire and Herefordshire. There is a choice of good pubs a short drive (or long walk!) away. Home grocery deliveries will be put away ready for your arrival, the local veg shop also has an excellent selection of freezer meals.
You are welcome to enjoy the smallholding where you can pick seasonal fruit, feed the ducks and chickens and pat the ponies. The family dogs and cats wander about so if bringing a dog they must be well behaved with other dogs and farm animals. You may enjoy fabulous walks directly from the front door but the grounds are not totally secure so it is recommended to keep your dog on a lead unless it is well trained. There are 3 large unfenced ponds which were originally used for the Oast houses, the top pond still has some fish, there are a number of active badger setts and many species of birds and bats.
A walk to The Malverns takes about 2 hours with just 1 main road to cross or you can walk or cycle on The Worcestershire Way. The Barn has a comprehensive information folder which details some favourite routes. The famous Malvern Theatre is just 7 miles away, visit Elgars birthplace, Worcester Cathedral or a number of National Trust properties including Leigh Court Barn which is the largest cruck barn in England. Adventurous activities are all nearby to include horseriding, fishing, go karting, golf, boat hire, ice skating and Laser quest, quad trekking or canoeing.
After a busy day there is a small patio area with garden furniture and a BBQ or (by arrangement) enjoy a dip in the pool , a game of tennis or play pinball, darts or table tennis in the games room.

"Beautiful, spotlessly clean, friendly owners, perfect!"
There were 5 in our party, 4 adults, 1 child and 3 very well behaved dogs.
The barn is superbly equipped, and, like I said in my title of the review it was spotlessly clean. The owners were extremely helpful, lovely family.
We took the dogs on a very long walk which we all thoroughly enjoyed in breathtaking worcestershire countryside.
The typical British weather didn't dampen our spirits. The large games room equipped with darts, table tennis were welcomed by all of us, a great feature for all to enjoy given the weather.
Thank you very much Louise, we would like to come back for a weekend again next year.

We had a great time at the Barn! As soon as we arrived , we felt rather special to have found a beautiful place. The Barn was just lovely and suited our needs in everyway possible. The setting was peaceful and picturesque. Unfortunately the weather wasn't great during our stay but the luxurious feel of the Barn made it really cosy for us. Our son and daughter (5 and 2 years of age) had so much fun and were sad to leave on our last day- if only we could have stayed for longer! We went on some good walks from the Barn and the highlight for us was climbing the Malvern Hills with our young children. The only down side was that most of the bikes in the shed were unrideable. Thank you Louise for all your help and kindness.
I am glad you enjoyed your break. It was such a shame it was so wet over the jubilee weekend. I am sorry about the bikes I was unaware that they were unrideable, I know the mid size upwards are ok but will get the smaller bikes out and see if we can give them a makeover.

"Beautiful Barn And Great Location"
Stayed at the barn for the weekend to celebrate husbands birthday. Wanted a peaceful relaxing weekend which was exactly what we had. Prepared for wet weather but it was warm and sunny ! The family were really friendly and helpful. We were made to feel very welcome including our dog Alfie who made friends with the owners dog Oscar who accompanied us on our walks. He also loved the cute little ducks. The surrounding area was lovely with walks from the door. It really was a lovely barn located right next to the owners main house with lovely views. Very peaceful. There was lots of information in the barn on the surrounding area, walks, places to visit and pubs and restaurants. The barn itself was spacious, very comfortable with everything you need. The kitchen was well equipped and the king size bed was the best we have slept on. It was cosy and warm there and wished we could have stayed longer. Louise also let us have a late departure on the Sunday to make the most of our last day. Very accommodating. Recommend the cornish pasties & chocolate fudge cake from the local garage. Also teenage son really appreciated the free Wifi access. Hope to return again in the summer !!
Many thanks for your comments. I hope we can accommodate you in the summer when the pool is open. I am quite busy but still have some free weeks available. I look forward to hearing from you. Kind Regards
