Hoppickers Barn
About the home
Quality in Tourism 4 star rated self catering property.
The comfortable accommodation is located on the first floor of the barn with 2 bedrooms, I king size with extra bed (and cot space) and the 2nd bedroom can either be 3' twin beds or zip up to a super king. There is 1 family bathroom and the spacious living area is open plan under the original oak beams with a panoramic window overlooking the gardens. The Open plan area includes kitchen, dining room and large lounge area with 32" TV with freeview/DVD player/CD and Ipod docking station.
It is a very peaceful location suitable for a romantic getaway, a family break or a small group of friends to just relax, enjoy the many facilities or visit the nearby attractions within Worcestershire and Herefordshire. There is a choice of good pubs a short drive (or long walk!) away. Home grocery deliveries will be put away ready for your arrival, the local veg shop also has an excellent selection of freezer meals.
You are welcome to enjoy the smallholding where you can pick seasonal fruit, feed the ducks and chickens and pat the ponies. The family dogs and cats wander about so if bringing a dog they must be well behaved with other dogs and farm animals. You may enjoy fabulous walks directly from the front door but the grounds are not totally secure so it is recommended to keep your dog on a lead unless it is well trained. There are 3 large unfenced ponds which were originally used for the Oast houses, the top pond still has some fish, there are a number of active badger setts and many species of birds and bats.
A walk to The Malverns takes about 2 hours with just 1 main road to cross or you can walk or cycle on The Worcestershire Way. The Barn has a comprehensive information folder which details some favourite routes. The famous Malvern Theatre is just 7 miles away, visit Elgars birthplace, Worcester Cathedral or a number of National Trust properties including Leigh Court Barn which is the largest cruck barn in England. Adventurous activities are all nearby to include horseriding, fishing, go karting, golf, boat hire, ice skating and Laser quest, quad trekking or canoeing.
After a busy day there is a small patio area with garden furniture and a BBQ or (by arrangement) enjoy a dip in the pool , a game of tennis or play pinball, darts or table tennis in the games room.

It is in a rich farming area, until well after the Second World War hops and fruit were the main agricultural products.
The Malvern Hills extend for nine miles and offer ideal walking conditions and spectacular views stretching to the Cotswolds and the Welsh marches.
There is something for everyone from guided walks and trails, exploring history at the Heritage centres and local museums, premier theatre or just relaxing in an award winning health spa.

There were 5 in our party, 4 adults, 1 child and 3 very well behaved dogs. The barn is superbly equipped, and, like I said in my title of the review it was spotlessly clean. The owners were extremely helpful, lovely family. We took the dogs on a very long walk which we all thoroughly enjoyed in breathtaking worcestershire countryside. The typical British weather didn't dampen our spirits. The large games room equipped with darts, table tennis were welcomed by all of us, a great feature for all to enjoy given the weather. Thank you very much Louise, we would like to come back for a weekend again next year. |
