From the owner

We offer cottage holidays on an organic sheep farm set in the stunning Devon countryside with large gardens, fields and woods and free coarse fishing on our well-stocked lake. Meadow Cottage is a former great barn which has been converted to create a spacious house. The cottage sleeps up to 9 in 4 bedrooms with 3 bathrooms. We can also provide an excellent caterer for prepared meals and special dinners.

Enjoy peace and quiet amongst our gardens, fields and woods. Get close to nature with our organic pastures, pure air and a wealth of wildlife. Explore our woodland walk, fish or relax beside the stocked fishing lake or meet our friendly farm animals and pets. For children there is a play area with swings and a trampoline.

We are ideally placed to reach the sea, from sandy beaches, surf at Croyde or Saunton, to rocky coves or old fishing harbours such as the world famous Clovelly. The beaches in North Devon are amongst the best in England and the area has been recognized as having environmental importance and has been delegated a UNESCO Biosphere reserve.

There are countless walks to explore from the farm and we are minutes away from the Tarka Trail, ideal for walking or cycling. There are a wealth of beautiful historic houses and gardens to visit nearby and numerous family attractions to enjoy.

We are situated between the Moors, making it easy to explore the depths of Dartmoor or Exmoor and the pretty villages that are scattered around the area.

As well as farming organically we try to be as environmentally friendly as possible and generate our own renewable energy from our wood boiler and solar panels.

Covid-D Update March 2020 Our cottages remain open for visitors and once here you need not come into direct contact with anyone else. We are in good health and have no cases of covid-D in the vicinity. Our cottages are deep cleaned to the highest standard before and after each booking. You can still enjoy walking in the countryside, fishing on the lake or watching the wildlife or our new born lambs. Pool Hygiene We have looked into pool hygiene safety with the Pool Treatment Advisory Group who state that Public Health England have said: “We have checked with our national leads who confirm that coronavirus would be inactivated at the levels of chlorine used in swimming pools.” We are open for business as usual but with preventative measures.

How do damage deposits work?

In most cases, you don’t pay a damage deposit up front. Instead, we save your payment details securely and you’re only charged in the event of damage to the property.

Occasionally, you will pay a damage deposit up front as part of the total rental cost. In this case, the owner has 10 days after you check out to report any damage. If they don’t, we’ll return your deposit. If their claim is successful, we’ll deduct the agreed cost and return the remainder.

How do I edit my booking?

You can request to change the dates or number of people on your booking via the Manage your holiday booking page. To change your holiday dates use the Edit booking button. If you need to change the number of guests staying then send Sophia (the owner) a message.

If Sophia (the owner) agrees, they’ll send you a revised quote outlining the changes. You can review and accept/decline this from the Manage your holiday booking page. You’ll have 48 hours to take action before the revised quote expires.
