An ideal base for families or a quiet retreat for couples. The glorious sandy beach is accessed directly opposite the Park for those who are reasonably fit (10 mins down, 20 mins up) . The Cliff Top Cafe provides a welcome break and is situated approximately 1/3 rd of the way down.
The South West Coast path with spectacular views runs along the top of the cliff and offers access to the ancient chapel at Rame head and the quaint villages of Cawsand and Kingsand. Surfing is popular and a surf school is available on the beach (seasonal). Diving to explore HMS Scylla is available just offshore. Golf, fishing and horse riding are available locally whilst many quality attractions such as the Eden Project are within easy reach by car.
The Lodge provides an ideal base to explore Cornwall and South Devon. If you are looking for a more relaxing break, we provide books (for all ages), puzzles, indoor and outdoor games and DVD's, videos, and CD's, though it may take a while to read the entire collection of Agatha Christie novels at the Lodge!
Lodge 9 is situated in a quiet corner of the park on the exclusive development of just 11 Lodges with secure gated vehicular and pedestrian access.
Parking is directly in front of the Lodge. There is a large grassed area suitable for outdoor family games which can be seen from the Lodge. The Park offers further facilities such as an indoor heated swimming pool, cafe, with internet access, gym, soft play area, bar with satellite TV, restaurant and function room with entertainment in the season.

Comfortable beds and fluffy towels await you as all linen is provided. As private owners of this Lodge, we keep it to the highest standards of quality and cleanliness. It is a 'home from home' for us as well as you so we understand what little things can make a big difference. That's why you will find salt, pepper and vinegar in the cupboard, cling film and foil in the drawers, dishwasher tablets, washing tablets, washing up liquid and cloths. There are plenty of matching plates, bowls, cups, mugs, glasses, cutlery, serving dishes and cooking utensils so you don't have to wash up after each meal and can use the dishwasher to the full. There are selections of books for children and adults including a series of Agatha Christie novels. A CD tower houses both music and films. There is a living flame gas fire in the lounge area for those chilli nights, ensuring that the Lodge is cosy and warm in all weathers. The gas boiler serves both central heating and hot water which is always available on demand. All in all, Lodge No.9 has a great reputation for being comfortable, very well equipped, well presented and family friendly. We feel sure that you will find everything to your satisfaction and welcome you to visit us at any time. Please ask if you require high chairs or travel cots as we can provide these for a small fee if your car is already full of buckets and spades! (we do have some of these too!!) The property is suitable for people with limited mobility and we have guests who stay regularly, hiring mobility scooters which can be delivered to site. You will see there are a few steps up to the lodge which have sturdy rails either side, however a ramp is also to hire should this be needed. Please telephone to discuss your requirements.

Parking for one car is directly in front of the lodge and additional spaces are available on request outside the security gate. There is a large decking area to the front of the property with fabulous views of the sea and Rame Head, here you can relax vwith al fresco dining as a sturdy wooden table and six chairs are provided together with cushions. The grassed area for family games can been seen from here which is ideal for the adults to relax whilst keeping an eye on the children at play. We provide outdoor games for your enjoyment. The decking continues round the side of the property (see photo) to another seating area to the side rear of the Lodge with aluminium table and chairs. If windy, this is a more sheltered position and offers the alternative spectacular view across rolling countryside to the Tamar Estuary, Plymouth and Dartmoor beyond.
The Park offers traditional seaside activities such as a small amusement arcade and crazy golf, there is a shop/cafe around the corner from this. The cafe also boasts some internet stations and here is the access to the indoor swimming pool, gym, and sauna. opposite this complex is the Whitsand Bay Park Club, Pub and Restaurant. Up the short hill is a small play area and further along the lane is a circular route around the ancient monument site. The Park is actually on an English Heritage site, once known as Whitsand Bay Battery or Raleigh Battery. There are weekly tours of the site and more details of the history are readily available online and from the reception. Whitsand Bay is an ideal base to explore the hidden gems of the Rame Peninsula, Plymouth and the whole of the Cornwall coastline down towards St Austell.
We ask for a deposit to secure the booking for your preferred dates, this can be paid online through this secure site via Paypal. A returnable deposit of £100.00 against damage or excess cleaning is also required with your final payment or at least 1 week before your arrival. We clarify all conditions and acknowledge your payments with email confirmation and contract copies at each stage of your enquiry and booking. A hard copy can also be sent to you on application. Please note that there are various incentives offered for early bookings, repeat bookings and concessions from time to time. These are regularly updated and we encourage you to make enquiries at your convenience.

• The area is steeped in history , being popular for centuries for fishing from the local villages, and the beaches of Whitsand Bay were the landing place of choice for local smugglers out of Cawsand , Looe and Polperro, due to its remote location. Stories of the tales of local smugglers and the revenue men are told to this day .

Cremyll is a port located on Plymouth Sound with a waterside pub, the Edgecumbe Arms, a well known boat building yard and a ferry to Plymouth. The ferry itself has a history dating back to 1204 when it was first documented in the ownership of the Valletort Family. Nearby is the Country Park below
Mount Edgcumbe Country Park offers Grade I Cornish gardens which are open to the public. There is also a fine Country house also open to the public Easter through the summer season. Originally built by Sir Richard Edgcumbe of Cotehele in 1547-53 it has undergone some restoration. The house is now beautifully furnished with family possessions, including paintings by Sir Joshua Reynolds, Gerard Edema and William van der Velde, Irish bronze age horns, 16th century tapestries and 18th century Chinese and Plymouth porcelain.
The Earl's Garden was created beside the House in the 18th century. Ancient and rare trees including a 400 year old lime, a splendid Lucombe oak, and a Mexican pine are set amidst classical garden houses and an exotic Shell Seat. Colourful flowers and heather grace the re-created Victorian East Lawn Terrace, which has spectacular views over Plymouth Sound.
Kingsand / Cawsand these two villages, only a walk apart, have past reputations for fishing and smuggling. A long narrow lane takes you down to the shore line and 16th/17th C. cottages still exist. There are wonderful views out across Plymouth Sound with the occasional glimpse of a passing navy frigate, a myriad of yachts or a cross channel ferry. A Few small shops,pubs & restaurants are scattered throughout the villages, with small sandy beaches sheltered within. Oozing with character and charm. With a regular passenger ferry to The Barbican in Plymouth straight off the beach!
Plymouth perfect local destination for everthing a thriving city has to offer. Great shopping, restaurants, theatre, cinemas, museums, indoor attractions ,sea trips, historic buildings and more shopping! Accessible for cars,cyclists, buses and walkers. You can also view regular firework displays across the Plymouth Sound from the Lodge during July and August.
Anthony House is an 18th C National Trust property located just outside Torpoint and has collections of paintings, furniture and textiles. The grounds include a formal garden with topiary, a knot garden, modern sculptures and the National Collection of Daylilies. The Woodland Garden has outstanding rhododendrons, azaleas, magnolias and camellias.
Torpoint is a small 19th C. town which is either the gateway to Devon or Cornwall dependent on which way you are travelling. There is a highly efficient ferry service which links the town with Devonport in Plymouth. A ferry service dates back to 1791 with a chain link ferry (similar to those running today) dating back to 1832.

"Wedding party accomodation"
Excellent place to stay, 3 bedrooms,2 bathrooms, large lounge kitchen diner with lots of space to wonder around with out being on top of each other. Great deal better than many hotels as you have the flexibility to come and go as you please. The lodge is very well equipped to cater for 6 adults in comfort. Would recommend this accommodation to anyone.
