"Just what you expect from a Seaside Cottage"

I'm not sure what the negative hoopla about that I've seen on the cottage. None of it's true. It's clean, comfortable and well appointed. Everything worked as it should. A large space for the money. Nice Bath, comfortable bed and conveniently located for my wanderings in the area. Johnshaven is a quaint little village. I reccommend this place heartily for a stay and hope I get a chance to stay longer the next trip. While there was no parking at the cottage parking was very close by at the harbour.

If there were any problems prior to my stay I think it had to to with the previous guests. I think some guests could misconstrue their responsibility on self-catering accomodations to keep it clean and tidy. I always try to leave the accomodations in equal or better condition I found it in, with the exception of the linens and towels.

"A great break from the hustle and bustle. Peace and tranquility at every turn - you can really relax."

The house is really close to the sea - you need to obtain a waterproof jacket in case of rain or fog. If you want to cook meals on site - need to obtain somewhere in the products that you like - on th… More

Thanks for your review, Linni (the person in charge of the house) and Peter and Sonia (the neighbours) appreciate you staying at the cottage.

"Cheap but not cheerful"

Johnshaven is a charming tiny fishing village. It's very peaceful and laid back and a lovely area to stay for a few days. Unfortunately the same cannot be said for Harbour Cottage. Yes it is extr… More

We apologise if you did not have a good stay, my long term tenant had just leaved the house the day before before you arrived and it was meant to be cleaned, I live in France and I was not aware of it. I'm just back from Johnshaven where I've spent 2 weeks at the cottage, the house is not as you described but tidy and clean.
