The Scottish Highlands region

Elgin is at the centre of the whisky industry and most of the famous names are located nearby. The Whisky Trail is world famous and a "wee dram" and the end of a distillery tour is the way to finish!

Johnston's cashmere mills are located in the town and Baxters Soups are in the next town of Fochabers both of which have excellent visitors centres. Gordon & MacPhail, in Elgin are worth a visit - it is an old fashioned up market grocers/deli with outstanding displays and those special food gifts to take back home.

Golf, walking and fishing venues are second to none.

Dolphin watching on the Moray Firth is worth a trip and the beautiful sandy beaches around Lossiemouth and Speyside are ideal for a gentle stroll.

There are many castles and historical sites to visit and there is a you tube video on Elgin which can be found here:

Elgin has its own "micro climate" which makes a visit to this area even more pleasant.
