Dartmouth is a​ beautiful historic town situated on the west ​bank ​of the stunning ​River​ Dart ​in an area of outstanding natural beauty​. This ancient market town is steeped in history and is the perfect destination for holidays.

The town hosts numerous festivals and events throughout the year providing a rich and rewarding visitor experience.

There are some great activities and attractions in and around Dartmouth, including river cruises, steam trains, a paddle steamer, Dartmouth Castle, Dartmouth Museum, Britannia Royal Naval College, where Her Majesty the Queen first officially met His Royal Highness the Duke of Edinburgh in 1939.

The river Dart offers private boat hire, kayaks, paddleboards, and a range of other water sports at local beaches including Blackpool Sands.

If you love historic houses and gardens, castles or immersing yourself in history and culture, then Dartmouth is the place for you. Shopping, galleries, museums, arts and crafts – the list goes on in Dartmouth town centre. While away hours browsing through Dartmouth’s beautiful historic streets – it’s the perfect town for some serious window shopping.

If it’s family friendly activities and attractions you are looking for – then in easy reach of Dartmouth are some of the best family days out in South Devon – older kids who love adrenaline-filled things to do, or younger kids who love to visit animal attractions or local theme parks – there is plenty to keep the children entertained – and who can forget crabbing!

In the surrounding South Devon countryside, you can take part in all manner of outdoor activities, including walking, cycling, watersports and of course enjoy the pleasures of the River Dart by getting out on the water.

With the South Devon Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty on your doorstep – and Dartmoor National Park a short drive away, you don’t have to venture far to enjoy the stunning Devonshire countryside.

Also nearby are the seaside towns of Brixham, Paignton and Torquay.

The holiday home is centrally heated and has 2 bedrooms, a flat-screen TV, an well equipped kitchen with a dishwasher and a microwave, a washer/dryer, and 2 bathrooms with a shower, making it ideal for 2 couples or families.

Please note that electricity is not included in the price when booked. It is operated by a coin meter and takes 1 or 2 pound coins. Depending on usage and the amount of people in the party this shouldn't be more than 20 pounds (very often a fair bit less) a week in Summer and 40 pounds in Winter depending on heating use.

Why can't I call Melissa and Carl (the owner) before booking?

You can exchange contact details with the property owner/manager once your booking is confirmed and you’ve paid in full. Paying and communicating only through our platform allows us to ensure that your booking is covered by our Payment Protection policy.

How do damage deposits work?

In most cases, you don’t pay a damage deposit up front. Instead, we save your payment details securely and you’re only charged in the event of damage to the property.

Occasionally, you will pay a damage deposit up front as part of the total rental cost. In this case, the owner has 10 days after you check out to report any damage. If they don’t, we’ll return your deposit. If their claim is successful, we’ll deduct the agreed cost and return the remainder.

How do I pay the balance of my holiday?

You can pay the remaining balance of your holiday at any point. Simply go to Manage my holiday booking and click Pay now.

We’ll automatically charge the balance payment to the same payment method 10 days before it’s due. Go to Manage my holiday booking to see when the payment will be taken.

How can I retract my booking request?

You’ll need to contact Melissa and Carl (the owner) to do this. Send them a message in Manage your holiday booking or through the contact form on this page.

How do I cancel my booking?

Go to Manage your holiday booking to cancel your booking. Here you can view your cancellation policy to see if you’ll be refunded.

How do I edit my booking?

You can request to change the dates or number of people on your booking via the Manage your holiday booking page. To change your holiday dates use the Edit booking button. If you need to change the number of guests staying then send Melissa and Carl (the owner) a message.

If Melissa and Carl (the owner) agrees, they’ll send you a revised quote outlining the changes. You can review and accept/decline this from the Manage your holiday booking page. You’ll have 48 hours to take action before the revised quote expires.
