London, with over 30,000 shops and stores to choose from as well as a burgeoning reputation in the fashion world, shoppers will not be disappointed - from designer labels in Bond Street to bustling street markets in Camden, Notting Hill and Brick Lane. The capital also have 400 live music venues catering for everything from opera to Brit pop and sports fans will not be short of excitement whenever they come. The summer sees the world's largest classical musical festival at the Royal Albert Hall - The Proms.
In the 21st century London has reinvented itself on a monumental scale. Don't miss the amazing views from the ultra modern British Airways London Eye, the worlds most visited modern art gallery Tate Modern, or the staggering scale of the British Museum.
The Central London/Zone 2 / Holland Park area
Holland Park was first opened in 1952 and takes its name from Sir Henry, Earl of Holland who was formerly resident at Holland House. The Park lies in the former grounds of Holland House to the South though much of the grounds of Holland House have been sold to housing developers.
Holland Park is also the site of the Kyoto Japanese Garden- an ecology garden and rose gardens built for the 1991 London Festival of Japan.
Other facilities in the park include an adventure playground and café. During the summer months outdoor opera and dramatic performances are staged at the open-air theatre. Peacocks and squirrels are abundant throughout the park.
Holland Park is considered by many to be the most romantic park in London- due to the wooded walks and beautiful views. Holland Park is easily accessed via Holland Park underground station.
Europe's largest covered shopping and cinema complex is situated in nearby Shepherds Bush. Called the Westfield London Shopping Centre this state-of-the-art complex offers over 300 retail outlets - many designer stores, dozens of restaurants, bars and cafes plus a multi-screen modern cinema showing all the latest movies.
Bustling Notting Hill Gate with all its trendy restaurants and cafes is only a ten minute walk away and Marble Arch and Oxford Street just a short bus ride away.

Guestbook for Holland Park House
"We would have no hesitation in saying that the Holland Park House is amongst the best properties we have ever stayed in among a list which would cover many of the major cities in western Europe. The welcome was delightful, the large vase of fresh flowers a lovely touch and all in all an excellent property - warm, cosy and comfortable with plenty of space.
It's in a great position, ideally between the small shops of Holland Park Avenue and the large stores of High Street, Ken, with good restaurants all round. Transport is very easy with handy Tube & bus stations/stops.
5***** all round". Mr. Barkley. N. Ireland
"We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The house is beautiful and so convenient. It had every comfort we could have hoped for and the benefit of being able to drive to the location and then simply forget the car for the week. With Holland Park so close it really felt as if we were in the perfect part of London and only a few tube stops away from the very heart of the city.
Jenny Fonseka and her son Neil were very welcoming, thoughtful and kind in doing everything they could to make it a really memorable holiday.
I wouldn't hesitate to book this place again - its fabulous". Mr Kirkland UK
