St Clair is a delightful country cottage located in one of the most wooded parts of Devon near the pretty village of Sheepwash. The Grade II listed thatched cottage is the perfect rural retreat for those seeking tranquillity in traditional Devonshire countryside. Externally, the large garden is bordered on one side by a stream. St Clair is situated within the UNESCO North Devon Biosphere Reserve. A great diversity of wildlife can be seen in the garden at St Clair including a variety of butterflies and birds. Only two miles from the house is the Devon Wildlife Trust’s Meeth Quarry Nature Reserve which comprises 370 acres of lakes, ponds, woodlands, bogs and grasslands. From the property there is easy access to the famous Tarka Trail (three miles away) with over 180 miles of walking and cycling opportunities. Bicycles can be hired on the trail in nearby Torrington. The north coast of Devon and Cornwall (including the historic seaside village of Clovelly) is approximately half an hour's drive away. Tintagel, which is associated with King Arthur, is one hour's drive. Dartmoor National Park is approximately half an hour's drive.
