Location description from owner

The England region

Padstow lies on the River Camel on the North Cornwall coast and is a typical working fishing port where you can watch trawlers bringing in their 'catch of the day.'

All around the quayside you will find quaint shops selling unusual gifts and galleries where you can purchase a painting to remind you of your holiday in Padstow. You can also buy a Cornish pasty or indulge in a Cornish cream tea, then in the evening sample the menu at Rick Steins Seafood restaurant.

St Merryn

St Merryn Village is just 4 miles away from Padstow and provide the visitor with all facilities you need. It is a great central area for all the local beaches, 'seven bays for seven days.' The village has all the amenities that you require, and plenty of places to eat.

The area, not only provides outstanding natural beauty for you to explore, but has a championship golf course, Trevose Golf and Country Club. Trevose has three courses enabling everyone from beginners to the experienced to enjoy the panoramic views from the tees to the greens.

The more active visitor apart from all the beach sports like windsurfing, water ski-ing, sailing and surfing, the area has horse riding schools, several golf courses, walking and a beautiful cycle trail all along the Camel Estuary.

“Great pool and location”

Reviewed 10 Sep 2016

We recently stayed with our 2 young boys (6 and 9) who were excited about the pool nearly every day and this was the biggest treat at this villa as it sorted us out in a couple of rainy mornings and afternoons. The villa is spacious with everything needed to survive for a week away from home including 3 toilets and 2 shower rooms. Unfortunately it isn't particularly well loved which lets it down. The pool, albeit very warm and secluded, it wasnt always clean and we had to email the owners to come and clean it in the middle of the week and unfortunately they had to return the following morning to clean it again as what they did didn't work. The bathroom toilet had a problem with the flush the afternoon we arrived and wasn't fixed for the entire week despite promises that it would be by the owners however we could get away with sharing the remainig two. Both showers had very little power ( the main bathroom shower head faces towards the wall and the water sprays directly over the taps too) and the power shower in the shower room was unpredictable and my sons refused to go in it! The water pressure is terrible in both showers and unacceptable for use especially if you have long hair. The fridge and cutlery drawers were not very clean nor was some of the crockery and alot of it had to be cleaned before usage. We complained about the toilet, the showers and the cleanliness of the pool and although the latter was dealt with, there wasn't any apology for the inconvenience which was a real shame. We would return as the location is brilliant however the showers need dealing with and it just needs some love and updating.

“Fantastic”

Reviewed 1 Jun 2013

Would highly recommend staying here. Fantastic location just a short drive from our favourite beech, Harlyn Bay. Enjoyed the swimming pool and used it every day. Would definitely stay here again. The owners were very friendly and welcoming. The property was very clean and tidy.
