La Casa dei Gerani is a very nice apartment located at the fist floor (2nd for Americans) of a building, with a lift, in a quiet neighborhood near a park and very well served by public transport. No need to have a car, we suggest those arriving by car to leave it in the garage nearby and skip Roman traffic jams. The underground stops 2 minutes walk from the apartment, and buses too.
There are plenty of shops in the immediate surroundings, and within a few minutes walk there are supermarkets, including an ORGANIC FOOD one, fruit&vegetable seller, restaurants, pizzeria, pharmacy, bakery, bank, 24hrs cash withdrawal, coffee bar downstairs .
There is the entrance (the door is armoured), one bedroom with a big bed for two, the living-room with a sofa-bed for two and a single folding bed, the kitchen (fully equipped: cooking facilities, oven, microwaves, refrigerator with small freezer, washing machine, dishwasher, american coffee and espresso coffee machines, toaster, orange squeezer), the bathroom with the shower, no limit to the amount of hot water even if there are many of you taking the shower one after the other.
There's a baby bed upon request (we also have the baby cot, a high chair, his plate, fork and spoon).
There is also a 6th folding extra bed, even if, for our guests' comfort, we prefer to offer the apartment to up to 5 people.
We regularly change mattresses of each bed.
Electricity, gas, air-con and heating, WIFI, as well as cleaning lady before arrival and after departure, are included. Both rooms have TV set and separate access to the bathroom. The apartment is self-catering, but we'll make sure you'll find at your arrival some bottles of water (even if water from the tap is a good drinkable water) and something for your fist breakfast, in case you arrive too late to buy something yourself. The apartment is fully equipped and you'll find all the products for cleaning, as well as the basics for the kitchen (olive oil, salt, sugar). So you won't have to buy everything, but only those items that run out, to make sure every guest finds everything is needed for the house, without having to buy everything!.
The area is one of the better served by public transport in Rome. The B line underground station, "LIBIA", has opened on June 2012 and it is 2 minutes walk from the apartment. It takes you to the hystorical center in 10 minutes. It stops at: piazza Bologna, Termini railway station, Coliseum, Circo Massimo, Piramide, St.Paul's basilique, Eur. The Treno Metropolitano stop is 50 mt away from home, and its stops are: Tiburtina (6min), Tuscolana(14min), Ostiense(20min),Trastevere,Villa Bonelli, Magliana, Muratella, Ponte Galeria, Fiera di Roma, Parco Leonardo, and Fiumicino aeroporto in less than 1 hour (its last stop) bypassing Rome's traffic jam. Then there are buses all the time on Viale Libia shopping street (about 100 mt, 2 minutes walking distance), going to Termini station, to piazza San Silvestro (near Fontana di Trevi, via del Corso), and on Nomentana street (less than 5 minutes walking distance, some 300 mt), reaching Termini station and via del Tritone and via del Corso, in the heart of the hystoric centre. You can also easily reach the Vatican by underground, switching to the A line in Termini and stepping out at Ottaviano stop. If you want to go to Ostia beach you step on the same city train 50mt from home, step down in Ostiense station and take the Ostia Lido train there (every 10 minutes or so), it takes around one hour twenty minutes.
The train from Fiumicino airport stops a few minutes from the apt, but if you prefere or if you arrive from ciampino airport, wherte there's no train nor underground but only some buses to Termini station, we may arrange for a car with driver to be there waiting for you at the airport at a cheaper price than taxis.
