Location description from owner

The England region

Manaccan is 2miles from Helford and the Helford River and 1 mile from Gillan Creek and 2 miles approx. to St Anthony .The Barn feels as if it is in a part of English countryside that time has forgotten with ancient oak forests lining the creeks , perfect for exploring with boats and canoes ,The East side of the lizard has some beautiful hidden coves but also close to the more rugged Cornish coast with Church Cove and Poldu close by and The famous National Trust Kynance Cove and Mullion only about 25 minute drive away .
You feel like you get the best of all worlds you can either stay at the farm and enjoy the tranquilly and peace of the countryside , walk down to the creeks or Helford River or surf on the Western side of the Lizard .Penzance is about 45 minutes away with lots to do , St Ives also takes about 45 minutes to get to as does Falmouth
If you want more structured days out for the children , there is Flambards in Helston and the Seal sanctuary in Gweek .Praa sands is a long stretch of sand with cafes and surfing if you want a slightly busier feel

“If you are looking for a great place for family and friends to enjoy Cornwall without the crowds look no further”

Reviewed 3 Jan 2016

We have just spent a very relaxing time over the New Year with our good friends who made the way to Higher Boden all the way from Hexham (best part of 500 miles each way). Our group had 4 adults and 4 teenagers (and one dog), which the barn accommodated very comfortably. Thanks to the Aga, central heating and open fires the barn stayed snug, despite the wet weather. The kitchen comfortably accompanied our culinary efforts with the large table easily coping with our group. Having two sitting rooms was also very handy as the TV watchers were able to settle in to watch the films on offer over the New Year without disturbing the others. The barn was well used (table tennis) and the walks around the area were lovely. I also need to mention the amazing pub food at the nearby Prince of Wales (check out trip advisor). We fully intend to come down again - thanks, your barn is a welcome haven from our normal busy lives!!!
