A handsome façade leads into this lovely home, with an enveloping sense of warmth and elegance in which each room has been thoughtfully decorated. The living room has two floor- to-ceiling shuttered windows looking onto the park. Vast ceilings with original coving lend an abundance of light and a sense of openness. There are two generous sofas to seat up to 6, a TV with DVD and a selection of films. Antique sideboards contain a selection of games and books. In front of a magnificent decorative stone and cast-iron fireplace, is a dining table to seat up to 5.

Wedding doors lead into a fully fitted hand-made kitchen, displaying pretty antique china and decorative detailing on the cupboards. Neatly arranged in a 'U'-shape, the kitchen has a gas hob, two electric ovens with grill, a large fridge and separate freezer, a microwave and small dishwasher. There is a generous array of china, glass and cookware along with a full complement of cutlery.

The large and impressive Master bedroom is panelled from top to toe and contains a handsome stone and cast iron decorative fire-place, along with two vast floor-to-ceiling windows with their original cast iron balconettes. These glorious east facing sash windows frame a view of pretty gardens, allotments and mature copper beeches in the park and are complete with working shutters and grand-pa pulls, enabling you to open both top and bottom window for air circulation. In this inviting room is a 6' bed, a pretty antique wardrobe with shelf space and drawers under, with an additional chest of drawers positioned between the windows. A mezzanine accessed by a narrow panelled staircase, leads to an enchanting bedroom space with a single bed, a small chest of drawers and easy chair. A low dividing wall enables you to enjoy all the space and views but is best suited for adults and responsible older children. Under the mezzanine is a lovely period style en-suite, fully tiled in cream stone, with a small corner shower, a generous hand-basin with plenty of storage under, a WC and an additional glass shelf for toiletries.

The second spacious bedroom has been symmetrically arranged with two smart 3' beds that zip and link to become a 6' double. Each bed has a generous chest of drawers with tall lamps, and a fitted wardrobe provides plenty of hanging space and overhead storage. Tongue and groove panelling and antique wall lights add a warm period feel. The large sash window has lovely west-facing views over the park.

A graceful period-style bathroom is fully tiled in cream stone with elegant mirrored wall panels. There is a generous hand-basin with storage under, a deep bath with hand-held shower set and a WC.

There is a parking permit for 1 car allowing you to park on the street. Alternatively the Bath Spa train or coach stations are a 15-20 minute walk away.

The England region

Bath & the Best of the West!
The attractions of the World Heritage City of Bath, are well-known, but Bath is also a perfect base from which to explore the picturesque West Country of England. Located close to the M4 and M5 motorways, 1.5 hours by train from London and just over half an hour from Bristol International Airport, Bath is surrounded by several designated areas of outstanding natural beauty and many of the region's attractions can be reached within a short journey time from the city.
One firm family favourite is Longleat, owned by the Marquis of Bath and set in 900 acres of landscaped parkland. Longleat Safari Park is home to the famous Lions of Longleat and a full day of fun is guaranteed, as this attraction boasts not just the safari, but a maze, adventure park, Jungle Express and much more.
Heading slightly further west is the cathedral city of Wells with its narrow streets, abundance of historic buildings such as the moated Bishop's Palace and lively twice-weekly market. In the same direction you will find Cheddar Caves and Gorge where the world-renowned Cheddar cheese is made and the caves of Wookey Hole, home of the legendary Witch of Wookey – great for a rainy day underground adventure!
En route from Bath to Wells, you should not miss the mystical Glastonbury Tor, one of the most spiritual sites in the UK. Steeped in history and legend, the climb to the top is well worth the effort for the views across the Somerset Levels.
World famous Glastonbury Festival needs little introduction, however, it's always worth checking out what's on at The Royal Bath & West Showground on the outskirts of Shepton Mallet which hosts anything from antiques fairs to The Royal Bath & West Show.
To the south east of Bath lies Stonehenge, a majestic stone circle that has been the subject of much speculation ranging from how it was built to ceremonial significance. Audio tours are available on entry and it retains its magic whatever the season, but particularly around the summer and winter solstices. Around 25 miles away is Avebury, considered by many to be the most impressive of all remaining pre-historic earthworks in Europe.
For outdoor enthusiasts there is a wealth of walks, cycle rides and boating opportunities with cycle and canoe hire readily available. Bath is an ideal base for sporting aficionados, whether as spectators or participants when attending events such as rugby or football matches, Badminton Horse Trials, Castle Combe Circuit or perhaps taking a trip down to the coast where you will find Weymouth and Portland National Sailing Academy, where the sailing events for the 2012 Olympics were held.
Last but by no means least, neighbouring Bristol with its iconic suspension bridge, floating harbour, SS Great Britain, vibrant street life and home to famous street artist, Banksy, should not be missed.
Whatever your taste, stay with Bath Holiday Rentals and our helpful, knowledgeable staff will assist you in planning your perfect stay in the West Country.

Central Bath

It's a very pleasant 5-10 minute stroll either through Victoria Park or past Bath's historic architecture to the city centre nearby and there are many museums and galleries en-route, as well as great restaurants, bars and cafes and an array of wonderful shops. The city centre buzzes with life and after a full day you can enjoy a performance at the Theatre Royal, relax in the hot waters of the Thermae Spa, spend the evening at the Komedia comedy club or participate in a number of music and literary festivals. The beautiful Royal Victoria Gardens has a fine botanical garden, covered tennis courts, crazy golf, a huge adventure park for children. A compact 18 hole golf course (The Approach Golf Course) with lovely views of Bath and the surrounding hills is just down the road.

At the top of Marlborough Buildings is Marlborough Tavern, a gastro pub. Around the corner at St. James Square you'll find good local amenities; a newsagents, chemists, coffee shop, Italian deli, organic grocery store, a florist and Cavendish Cooks who supply home-made take away food. At Margaret's buildings there are restaurants and gorgeous boutiques. The nearest supermarket is a Co-op on Julian Road, sainsbury's about 5 minute walk away or Waitrose in the very heart of the city
