Very Good

Reviewed 1 Nov 2016

We spent a lovely weekend in Bath - 8 old university friends. Mignon House is in an amazing location but was still very peaceful. We loved the character of the house and Paul was a very friendly and relaxed owner. Most things about the house were great, though it is quite tired and could use some updating. More hand towels were needed though to be fair we didn't get in touch with Paul to request these! Lovely comfy beds and the house was very warm and cosy, the welcome bottle of prosecco was a nice touch. It would be difficult to beat the central location of this property

“Generally good, excellent location, needs a few issues ironing out.”

Stayed here for a weekend for a hen party with a group of 8 females. The place was clean and tidy and plenty of room for us all. The beds and bedding were very comfortable. Excellent location right in the centre. On arrival we were shown around, tea, coffee and a bottle of prosecco waiting for us. However there are a few things that need improvement, which would make this place a excellent rather than good accommodation. After three guests taking a shower the hot water ran out which meant a number of people could either not shower or had a cold one. For a large property it should have enough hot water for everyone to have a shower. The rooms were generally clean and tidy but a but grubby and tired around the edges nothing a bit of maintenance and general up keep wouldn't sort out. In one of the showers there was mould on the ceiling and the paper had started to come off. A small thing but needs noting is there was one tea towel for the whole weekend which was dirty and wet after just the first batch of washing up from 8 guests eating and drinking. It may seem like minor things to complain about but if you are spending that much money on accommodation you should expect the best possible service and hot water for all guests. The shower and hot water situation did put a bit of a downer on an excellent weekend. Overall I would recommend this place to a friend.

“Location, location,location”

Have just spent the weekend in Bath visiting the Christmas markets and historical sites. Mignon House was the ideal location for our stay. You could not ask for anything more (except maybe a dishwasher!!) - clean, central, close to all amenities, warm and roomy. The proprietor was friendly, super helpful and made our stay exceptional with the attention to detail.

“Great Central Location, and very helpful landlord”

Reviewed 16 Oct 2015

The house is set only a stone's throw away from the Roman Bath and all the shops, so you could actually get to see most of the top attractions in Bath all by foot. There are also a lot of very good restaurants, English afternoon tea houses, cake shops and ice cream stalls nearby, so there's no need to panic where to eat next or where to buy some small gifts to take back home. There are also supermarkets nearby, hence if you want to cook some food for the whole family or friends to enjoy for dinner, it's also quite easy to get ingredients and sources. Apart from all the cutlery, the house provided a bottle of milk and a loaf of bread which had been very helpful when we arrived with empty stomach! Apart from Mignon House's wonderful location, we also find the landlord very kind and attentive. We have taken our 9 months son to join this big family outing, upon arrival, when the landlord saw that we have a baby in the group, he immediately went away and brought back a box of toys since he has a daughter who already out grown them, late on, we were also given a wooden highchair which had been very helpful since I had totally forgotten our portable highchair among the million things we should have taken with us with a baby on board. The overall feeling of the house is classical but cosy. All in all, we would definitely choose to stay here if we are visiting Bath again!

“Excellent stay”

Reviewed 23 Jul 2015

We went to Bath for a hen do and the accommodation was excellent, brilliant location, great service and the guy was really helpful and really excellent. Loved the house it was full of character, very clean and very very comfortable beds and lovely duvets which was a big plus. The accommodation thought of everything, there were clean towels and hair dryers for everyone and a fully equipped kitchen. There were 10 of us and the sleeping arrangements were so flexible it made our stay so much easier. Recommend this accomadation and would use it again for sure, it really was great.

“fabulous place to stay!”

Reviewed 21 May 2015

We were blown away by the house. A group of 9 of os stayed for a hen weekend. The house is better than the photos and you couldn't ask to be more central. 2 minute walk to the cathedral, 5 min walk to the train and bus stations and to Bath Spa. Paul was really helpful and flexible with arrival and depature times and the parking permit was a life saver. The rooms are lovely and the beds comfortable. Really we could not have asked for better. Nine very happy women, enjoyed it so much we are thinking of planning a 'hen-aversary' next year!! Thanks Paul :-)

“Fantastic large house in centre of Bath”

Reviewed 29 Apr 2015

I stayed in this property for a Hen Weekend, we had a fabulous stay. The owner Paul was very accommodating and helpful prior to our stay. The house itself is huge, plenty of space for all 10 of us to relax. Nice comfy large living room with high ceilings and large windows overlooking the square. The kitchen was clean and well equipped with a dining table big enough to seat 10. Great location, just a stones throw from Bath Abbey, shops, and the Bath spa. Couldn't fault it!

“Fantastic accomodation, perfect Bath location!”

Reviewed 4 Mar 2015

We stayed here for a hen weekend, there were 10 of us and there was plenty of space. The beds were really comfortable and the accommodation was clean and well kept. It was quite cold out but the heating was easy to use and manage. We used the kitchen for dinner for both nights and this was very well equipped. The location was perfect, a maximum of 3 minute walk to the spa and shops and really easy to find your way back. Would definitely come back with friends or family.

“Couldn't ask for a better location!”

Reviewed 24 Nov 2014

We booked mignon house for a hen weekend for 11 people and 1 baby! Not only was the apartment beautiful and perfectly located in central Bath (all main attractions less than 5 mins walk), it was really well equipped, the beds were so comfortable with pristine white linen and the small details of Christmas decorations and tree really made our stay! Paul was so helpful to deal with both prior to and during our stay ensuring that the slightly demanding needs of our party were met. I would have absolutely no hesitation in booking this apartment again and would definitely recommend this to anyone looking for a large, high quality period apartment in the centre of beautiful Bath!

“Beautiful Place, amazing location”

Reviewed 24 Sep 2014

A group of 10 of us stayed here for my friend's hen weekend. What a fantastic place! Amazing location, right next to the Abbey, Spa and High Street. Easily slept all 10 of us, very comfy beds, beautifully crisp bed linen, very clean throughout. Everything you could need for a stay in Bath, well equipped living room, kitchen/diner, bedrooms and bathrooms. Paul was brilliant throughout the weekend, couldn't do enough for us, even helped us with our bags....and we had a lot of them. I can't rate this property highly enough.
