“A great find!” We stayed in the house for 2 weeks In July 2013 and can honestly say that we had a wonderful time. The booking process with the owner was really straightforward and we had excellent communication with her and the property management team before and during our stay. The house is beautifully furnished to a very high standard and is very well maintained (cleaner and pool/garden maintenance weekly). We have stayed in lots of privately owned villas/apartments and this was certainly in our top three favourites! It is in an excellent location to access the supermarket, golf course and complex, local restaurant in Budens and the beautiful coastline, particularly Salema. We feel a car is a must to make the most of the area. The house is terraced and hence the pool area is overlooked by the neighbours, but it still afforded relaxation, peace and quiet, with lovely views over the golf course. The only slightly negative comment we would make is that the sun-loungers weren't the most comfortable and the outside table and chairs could be updated but neither of these things would deter us from booking again. If this is your first visit to this part of Portugal we would advise you to take a jumper/cardigan for the evenings, as there is a very strong wind which could be quite chilly (even in July!). The days were idyllic though. We would not hesitate to book again!

“An amazing place to pass a peaceful and relaxing summer vacation.” My wife and I visited the villa with our two adult children and their partners and we had an excellent time. The villa is extremely well equipped with everything that one may need. If your idea of a relaxing evening is to self cater the kitchen has everything you will need and the barbecue is marvellous and with a big fridge there can be an endless supply of cold drinks. (definitely needed in August!). The location is fantastic being peaceful but not too remote. As another visitor has commented the location is brilliant with all facilities being reasonably local with beautiful beaches just 20 minutes away. The Portuguese are lovely, being very polite and friendly and of course the weather is amazing. The pool was warm and sparkling when we were there and the villa has two locations on the pool terrace where you can sit outside. We tried to play badminton and table tennis but it was too hot, even in the evening, so a cold beer always took precedence. We've had some less than pleasing holidays recently but our stay at Casa das Oliveiras Velhas was more than perfect. I would recommend this property to anyone of any age and level of mobility.

“An easy breezy fun vacation!” We just returned home from an 8 day visit to Portugal staying at this beautiful villa,the ease of the vacation started even before we went, with regular emails from the owner answering all our questions about the house/area and also info on best car rental deals etc. Upon arrival I was very impressed with this beautiful modern and spotless clean house, we were met by the housekeeper, who assured us she was only a phone call away should we need anything. The house has all the mod cons you would desire,big spacious bedrooms with ensuite,fully equipped kitchen, comfortable living room area and english channels on TV! laundry room in basement complete with washer dryer ironing board etc. The location is also fab, walking distance to the "strip" but just enough away that you don't have to deal with the noise that may come from tourist having a good time in the bars etc, loads of lovely restaurants, bars shops etc, and an amazing beach not too far away either. we went on some fab day trips to Fatima, Lisbon, jeep safari, all day boat trip and more, they are all very affordable and worth the money. Old town is another beautiful place to spend the day, stop for dinner at one of the fab restaurants overlooking the beach, then go to bullfight on way home, a great way to spend your day! I enjoyed everything about this vacation and I can't wait to return, portuguese people are some of the friendliest ppl i have ever met, can't imagine anyone not enjoying a stay here, oh and did I mention the pool right outside the patio door, and also the bar-b-que grill if u fancy a few steaks for dinner. If your idea of a vacation is sun, sand, great food, exciting trips, relaxing by the pool, value for your money, then this place is for you!!!

“Nice apartment, great location” Not much to say other that it was modern, clean and the view from the little balcony is fantastic. There are shutters on the windows so it's a good option if you want to sleep in late! It's super close to the centre so was perfect for our weekend away.

“A fabulous, well equipped, immaculate villa in a beautiful position!” This was the first time we had visited this part of Portugal and we couldn't have asked for a better villa in a more beautiful location! The feeling of opening the shutters every morning was one of the great highlights! We felt thoroughly relaxed on our return to England....and our only complaint?....we weren't able to stay longer!

“absolutely wonderful” A lovely villa with a lovely view in a lovely location. Stayed there in June and returned in September and will again in 2019. Its fantastic with every home comfort in a lovely setting. The house is immaculate and has everything needed for a perfect holiday. The owners are very caring and make sure everything is just as it should throughout the stay. We highly recommend this place as just the perfect relaxing luxury holiday !

“Fantastic spacious villa with all amenities catered for.” Just returned from vacation with my party of eight.The Villa was everything that we had hoped for. Spacious bedrooms all with own bathrooms plus an additional toilet. Cleaned every day with regular changes of towels. Excellent pool with tennis court a wonderful bonus. Our stay was extremely hot so air con was a blessing. Will recommend to friends alike. Thanks to all.

“everything you could want on holiday” This is a brilliant place to stay and we plan to return-hence the opportunity for this belated review. Everything the other reviews say is correct . The house and the estate were perfectly maintained and it seems clear this is still true. The location and facilities are magnificent . For example I used the tennis courts and was able to borrow the kit and get a hit with a tennis pro who was around . Easy trips around are fun and with the distinct local culture there is lots to see and do in the area . Altogether as good a place to relax away from the hordes as we can imagine. Much looking forward to our revisit
