“Oh so comfortable villa - and that pool!” A wonderful, private and oh so comfortable villa - and that pool!
We enjoyed 8 days of peace, quiet and comfort staying in Ta Berta in Sannat. The welcoming Sam and Michelle have created a fantastic home away from home. Thank you for everything. You guys are the best!
“Truly Amazing- would recommend to anyone!” My family and I stayed at Villa Elma for two weeks and what a brilliant two weeks they were! On arrival to the property, we were greeted by the host who showed us around the accomodation and gave us additional information such as local restaurants, taxi services and when the cleaners/pool man would visit- something which we found very useful!
The accomodation was beautifully modern and very spacious/open-plan, a feature that's great for a large number of people. The kitchen was large and had all the utensils and tools we needed to prepare and cook meals- big cooker/microwave/dishwasher/coffee machine/kettle. This flowed into the dining room and then into a cosy lounge with an L-shaped settee and a large TV with DVD player. Opposite this was a wall of glass windows and doors that led to the indoor pool- a really nice feature!
The bedrooms were extremely spacious with plenty of storage, large beds and air conditioning units, something which we definitely needed! As an aside, speakers were routed throughout the rooms so music could be played to them via the tablet in the kitchen. The entirety of the villa was unbelievably clean and had a very homey feel to it.
The lights were controlled by motion sensored switches and could also be turned on/off by an iPad mounted on the wall, which we found was really cool!
The outside was roomy and got practically an entire day of sunshine- as south facing as they come! There was however, outside seating that was located in the shade for people who didn't wish to sit in the sun. The pool was very big and the perfect depth for all ages- it got very hot during the day which was lovely! The outside speakers also placed music from either the radio or a docking station- an extra luxury we were not expecting!
All in all, the villa was beautiful and Franco was very attentive and friendly to any issues or questions that we had. What made it extra special was the attention to detail and extra touches that made our visit that bit better- a stocked fridge, plenty of towels, toilet rolls, complimentary shampoo/soap, a cleaner to change towels and someone to clean the pool once a week.
My family and I would recommend absolutely anybody to this property, as the villa was faultless, the host welcoming and friendly as well as the nearest town (Naxxar) only a ten-minute walk away with plenty of restaurants, cafes and shops.
It was a wonderful visit and we'd stay here again anytime!
“No title could do justice...” No title could do justice to the experience of staying here.
Pauline was a great host; helpful, on hand when needed yet unintrusive. She gave local recommendations when asked for and was a breeze to communicate and organise with. It is hard to appreciate a good host until one experiences to the contrary, but we were in very good hands from start to finish.
The farmhouse itself is beautiful, quite classically decorated and the rooms are well-appointed.
If you're reading this then I'm guessing you want to know whether or not you want to stay here. Here are some things which may help.
Highlights (for us):
- the gas BBQ & grill on the patio
- the incredible view, including sunrise from the balcony.
- the location is so peaceful but so connected for when you want (see below). No disturbances.
- within hazy-stumbling distance of Xaghra Square (honestly 7, straight-line minutes), Ramla Bay (20) and some really old ancient things (10).
- air conditioning
- spacious, not just in sleeping capacity but also in living areas i.e. kitchen and living room. It can entertain as many as it can sleep.
- Gozo transport is incredibly cheap, efficient and good quality.
- the local community are warm, good-humoured and friendly.
Some things to be prepared for:
- mosquitos will have a go, unless the farmhouse is since equipped with nets, guards or working deterrents.
- that's about it.
In case it's helpful - we're in our mid-twenties. We saw mostly older families/friends here (and not overrun with tourists in May/June). We found Gozo & Malta neither too quiet nor too hectic, and with plenty of room for either extreme if you so desire. Take a good book for the poolside and go clubbing in La Grotta on Friday night/morning.
Gozo is beautiful. You should go. Just leave room for us.
“Lovely stay with excellent facilities” We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Villa Gaia, pool and sauna in the villa were fantastic, shame the weather wasn’t a bit warmer for us to use the outdoor pool.
Victoria was fantastic and made us feel very welcome, we would definitely love to go back!
“An awesome holiday” This was our second stay at Tal-Kittara Villa, having been invited by our children and son-in-law last year we enjoyed it so much we returned the compliment this year.
Once again we all had a great time at the villa which is excellent for a family like ours with three couples, one with two children. You are extremely well looked after by the Borg family who are lovely people.
Nothing is too much trouble for them.
The transport from and to Malta airport is well organised and efficient.Once there the bus system will get you virtually anywhere you are likely to want to go via the main terminus which is only 15 minutes away.Try all the main bays and see what suits you best.
The villa's pool is an essential in august - our grandchildren love it and we can all relax and have fun.Or, just relax.
The kitchen facilities for self-catering are very good and they will stock up for you if you let them have a list of your requirements. We strongly recommend their own eggs and tomatoes.
We were there at the height of the fiesta season with fireworks bands playing and processions through Victoria which was an added bonus.
If you can get there it is highly enjoyable - even the thunderstorm.
This is an excellent place to stay where you will be looked after by the family. There are also excellent places to eat in Victoria - we especially liked the Ittok restaurant where you sit overlooking the main square and watch the comings and goings whilst consuming good food and rather good cocktails.
Highly recommended all round.Try it.
“Wonderful property!” We were at Ta' Trejni in July for one week. It's a lovely property in the middle of the countryside with the most beautiful sunsets. The house has everything one might need to make a stay comfortable with good sized bedrooms, modern bathrooms and a great kitchen and open dining and seating area. The pool area is great! I could lie there forever! Our only suggestion is that it would be advisable to have two more umbrellas which can be tilted....for the late afternoon sun. :-) Great property! Hope to be back.
“Villa Sunny Side is Excellent” The party consited of grandparents, parents and children aged 2 1/2 and 1 year. The villa was delightful and superbly equipped - it met our every requirement. The adult pool and children's paddling pool were much enjoyed by all. The villa was spotlessly clean on arrival and the owner visited early morning daily (without disturbing occupants) to clean the pools and surrounding area.
A fault in the fridge/freezer was attended to immediately.
Supermarkets and restaurants are a little distance away so a car is essential.
I have nothing but praise for the villa and would recommend it thoroughly to families of all ages.
“deeper luxury of the new pool” It keeps getting better, the new pool is shallower but deeper in its luxury ,and longer in scale. The lapping horizon of water and the view across to Ta Pinu makes it very difficult to leave and visit the beach, especially after a long cool conditioned sleep.
“Stupendous Holiday Villa!” The whole family of 10 adults and 3 children stayed in this villa over the New Year and it was a wonderful experience. There is ample place for an even bigger party - one huge 3-bedroomed in the large basement where there is also a gym with air walker, rowing machine etc. and a games room with table tennis, air hockey, table soccer and billiards. Another 3-bedroomed on the ground floor near a spacious well-equipped kitchen and lounge, yet another 3 bed-roomed, plus two double bedrooms on the first floor and finally a twin room on the second floor next to a kitchenette. The villa has a sizeable pool (which unfortunately we couldn't use due to the cold weather), a terrace and a roof. All rooms are fitted with air conditioners/central heating which are available for use at a small extra charge. A specified amount of water and electricity units are given free with every rental, if this amount is exceeded there is a charge on any extra units used. This was not a problem for us because if you are careful not to waste water and electricity unnecessarily, the units provided proved sufficient. There is a children's playground and some very good restaurants only about 10 minutes walk from the villa and plenty of small grocery shops for everyday shopping close by. All in all, this is an ideal holiday home especially suitable for a large group of people.
“We had a great stay at Ta Mananni and would like to come back at once” We are a family with two teens and had 2 weeks at Ta Mananni. Each teen had his own bedroom and bathroom, and we loved to sit outside for eating together. The pool is great, even up to 2 meters deep. In the evening, the lights looked amazing. We loved Gozo, people are very friendly and Ray visited us two times. When we look at our photos, we would like to go back at once....
“Wonderful Family Holiday” Have stayed many times over the last twenty odd years as once you have been, you want to go back for more.
Well presented and maintained upper & lower floor villas with beautiful views of the surrounding landscape and sea. Close to all local amenities and shops. Others have already said it but Tessie, Charlie & family really do make you feel very welcome and that you are part of the family rather than customers. No issue is too big and no question is too small....lovely people in a lovely part of the island. Can't recommend highly enough.
“Exceptional” Charlie & Tessie (owners) were very very friendly and they go out of their way to help you from the day you arrive till the day you leave their villa. The villa was spotlessly clean and really big and spacious. All bedrooms are nicely decorated and the kitchen was newly fitted with a washing machine which was quite handy. The pool was of a very good size with a lovely swing and sunbathing area. We stayed in the upper villa which has a lovely big terrace and a b.b.q area with a big table were we stayed most nights. What I really enjoyed about this villa is the fact that it is in a very quite area but at the same time with close proximities to the town centre as well as the butcher, baker and groceries. (10 minutes walk).
“A lovely relaxing place & very helpful owners” Great villa, with everything we needed. Clean and well looked after. Plenty of space, with lovely en-suite bathrooms. Really nice to have a balcony overlooking the pool. Owners of the villa were incredibly helpful.
“This lovely spacious villa, set the scene for a fantastic time had by all!” We have stayed in villas with pools on Gozo many times and have voted Gharb villa are favorite, so much so, that immediately on our return, we have booked again for spring 2013. On a slight elevation at the edge of the village, the villa has lots of usable, and interesting areas, ideal for alfresco dining, evening drinks, stone walled courtyard and barbaque area with arches, step down to a fantastic (gated} pool area that can be closed off from young children when needed. The villa is fully equipped for all self catering, cooking and barbecuing needs. Car hire is essential especially if you like to eat out ,but you can be at numerous lovely little bays, villages, towns and interesting places within a ten to fifteen minute leisurely drive. The island is lovely, the people are lovely, the villa is lovely. can't wait.....
