Description

The Stables is situated in the beautiful village of North Stoke (once nicknamed the 'Secret Village'), surrounded by open unspoilt countryside and spectacular views of both Bath and Bristol. Set beside a Roman Road and on the Cotswold Way it boasts many fantastic walks so dogs are very welcome.

The property is within the owners own grounds and the conversion was completed in May 2010 into a bright and spacious living space. It has a large open plan lounge with a wood burning stove (for those cosy nights in) and sky TV so you don't miss any TV favourites, with a well equipped kitchen and dining area. There is a king sized bedroom, a double bedroom and a large bathroom with a separate shower and bath. French doors open out to a vast decked area. where a hot-tub is situated as is a gas barbecue and sun loungers. This is an enclosed area so ideal for children and dogs. For those with a bit more energy there is a tennis court with rackets and balls for your use. A outside swimming pool can also be made available for guests exclusive use until 5.30pm and is open from June to September.

High chair and travel cot are available on request.Dogs are very welcome but there is a limit of 2. A separate charge of £30.00 per pet is required to cover extra cleaning costs. Dog beds and bowls are available on request.The swimming pool is open from June to September depending on weather.As The Stables is located in the grounds of the main house there will nearly always a representative available for any queries or problems.

Door leading to a corridor and:-Master bedroom with a kingsize bed and large chest of draws and wardrobe, mirror. Large double bedroom with dressing table/chest of draws, wardrobe and mirrorLarge bathroom with separate bath and shower, WC, washbasin and heated towel rail.

The Stables are situated off a country track and surrounded by open unspoilt countryside. It has off the road parking for 3 cars and situated in the gardens of the main property. It has a vast decked area with a gas barbeque, sun loungers, chairs and table and hot-tub. This is an enclosed area so quite safe for any little ones. Through a gate and down a few steps you reach a full sized tennis court. Through another gate there is a outside heated swimming pool which opens from the June - September weather permitting and also a sunning area. Through the gardens you find a 8 acre paddock. In every direction there is a walk to be conquered and a view to match!

“Beautiful Bath cottage break”

We stayed in the Stables for 2 nights with our two children aged 10 & 7. It was wonderful! The cottage is beautiful & in a lovely area surrounded by pretty countryside and rolling fields. The tennis court & rambling walk to the pub (the swan) helped to tire the children out so we could sit and relax in the hot tub and star watch in the evenings..followed by warming up in front of the fire and watch a film. The hosts have really covered everything & are lovely lovely people. My only recommendation to families is to bring a plug in night light for the children’s room or hallway ..as it is very dark at night time for little ones to navigate to the loo. We would recommend this cottage to anyone & we can’t wait to return for abit longer next time.

A little gem off the beaten track. The accommodation could not be faulted and the hosts were extremely attentive. Loved the hot tub and was only sorry that we didn't have more time to use the other facilities. Fantastic walks for our dog on the door step.

Beautiful cottage stored with everything you could possibly need to feel at home. Exactly the peaceful break we were after! We have just come back from the cottage and we miss it already! Lisa and Mike very friendly welcoming and always available to help throughout our stay! We hope to come back again some time. Definitely would recommend.

From start to finish we enjoyed everything the barn and surroundings had to offer. We had a hot tub before breakfast every day and hit the pool every afternoon or evening. Regular donkey visits were the order of the day for the children (6 and 9), with some tennis matches in between. The weather was great throughout our week too and we visited a few local places, parks and good food pubs. Bond films on Sky put us to sleep most evenings. Lisa and Mike were really helpful and the BBQ was superb. We'd love to visit again....but could it be as wonderful second time?

I spent a three nights at the Stables with my new wife following our wedding. It's a beautiful location and the stables were very clean, well maintained, with all mod-cons (except wi-fi, which was a bit of a blessing), and everything worked perfectly. We were surprised there was no cafetiere, but upon enquiry, were astonished when there was a knock at the door the following day and a brand new one was delivered. This is indicative of the attention to detail and level of care Lisa and her husband (whose name I have forgotten - sorry) put into this property. We had a great time and would love to go back. Heads-up: approach North Stoke from Bath Road unless you have a good sense of adventure. My wife, knowing my love of country lanes, navigated me from the East and onto the Cotswold Way thinking it was a road (Google maps on my Blackberry, in fairness, did make it look like a road)... be advised: It isn't. Regrettably, I never did find out if it was passable.

Owner's reply: We do infact have a T-Mobile pay as you go dongle for guests to use with their lap-tops to access the internet. There is also a really good local pub that has a free wi-fi point. They welcome children, dogs, serve great food and also have a pretty beer garden. What more of an excuse do you need to sample the local beers and snuggle up to a roaring log fire while catching up on all those tedious emails!!

The Stables is a fantastic holiday venue. Lisa & Mike were incredibly welcoming and friendly. Where do I begin, watching the stars whilst sitting in the hot tub, watching George & Albert - the adorable donkeys, fantastic walks with amazing views right from the door step, delicious food at The Swan and many great attractions within a short drive. Roman Baths and Cheddar Gorge were fantastic. We would recommend The Stables to anyone who likes first class holidays

The stables is spotlessly clean & very nicely decorated. My young children loved the go-karts on the tennis court, the animals , hot tub & swimming pool. There is so much to do in th area. We can't wait to come back again.

Wonderful time spent at The Stables. The property was beautifully furnished, spotless and finished to a very high standard. Every little detail made our stay all the more special, from the candles to the hot tub. Would thoroughly recommend. Will definitely be returning with friends or our two children.

The warm welcome you receive from Lisa and Mike when you arrive sets the tone for the entire stay. From the flowers, chocolate and wine to the beautifully converted stables, there is nothing to fault. The accommodation is spotlessly clean, comfortably furnished and equipped with everything you could need. The outside space, hot tub and views were the icing on the cake. A peaceful oasis but with plenty to see and visit locally. A week at the Stables is not long enough.

How do damage deposits work?
