This charming one bedroomed Victorian cottage lies within five minutes walk from the centre of Hay. Ty Bychan is ideal for anyone seeking a relaxing week/weekend exploring the town and its local eating houses, cafes or for those seeking a more active time using it as a base to explore the mountains and rivers. Ty Bychan (little house) has recently been upgraded to a high standard with a lounge with wood burning stove for those cosy nights in, a basket full of wood and scuttle of coal provided. Upstairs bedroom has a comfortable king size bed. Outside there is a small partially covered courtyard where walking boots and wet weather gear can be stored. This area gains access via steep narrow steps on a shared pathway leading to a small garden with seating for a restful BBQ evening. "Perfect cosy cottage for a couple"
We loved our two night stay at Ty Bychan. Conveniently located on Church Street just metres from the centre of town, the cottage is the perfect size for two. Best bits for us: the woodburner which creates such a lovely atmosphere in the evenings, generous provision of firewood (though for further guests might be good to leave a note of where to buy top up wood, as we struggled on Sunday afternoon), and the enormous, super-comfortable bed. Hay itself is really lovely - especially the castle ruins and all the quirky shops. Would recommend the handmade pizzas at the Three Tuns pub near the river. Also canoeing from Glasbury to Hay was a really nice way to spend a couple of hours.

"Lovely little cottage in the centre of Hay on Wye"
Ty Bachan is a lovely little cottage near to the centre on Hay on Wye. Very clean and well appointed, it has everything you need for a comfortable stay. For me, having a wood burner made the cosy cottage that little bit cosier.
