About this location
The Lazio region
The region of Latium is dominated by Rome, capital of the ancient empire and the modern nation of Italy, and Vatican City, the indipendent papal state. The first settlements in this region go back to Etruscan civilization into the northern Latium. Rome ruled a large empire and when it began to part, this region became the centre of Christianity. Artists and architects worked for the Popes and their families, expecially during the Renaissance and baroque eras producing magnificent works of art. The inheritance of this millenary history can be admired everywhere in Rome and in all its surroundings. Every city, every town have its artistic treasure. Latium is a land of myth, legend, grandeur, and ironies. much of the civilized world was once ruled from here. Visit Viterbo, Tarquinia, Cerveteri , Tivoli Bagnaia and Bomarzo.
Navona District is one of the most magic and lovely areas of Rome. It is ideal for magic and romantic holidays or tourist or working resorts for its extreme proximity at a lot of places of artistic, financial and political interest of the “Eternal City”. It is recommended to people that have to go to the Centre for business or stages. This zone extends through a net of narrow streets and alleys dating from Middle Ages and it is rich of churches and palaces built during the Renaissance and Baroque era. The only way to explore it is on foot. You will find it bustling with street artists and musicians and you will find it frequented by every nationality people enjoying the numerous sidewalk cafes, the monumental palaces or the savoury Roman cousine waited on in the numerous typical and picturesque “trattorias” and taverns. The area is also rich of shops selling every type of merchandise with prices within the reach of every purse. Our apartment is in an ecceptional position that allows people to go round all centre of Rome on foot. You go out from the flat, turn the corner of the palace and immediatly find and see the Augustus' Forum ruines. . Indeed, it is 100 m from Pantheon, Piazza Venezia, Roman Forum and the old Jewish Ghetto, 200 m from Campo dei Fiori, Piazza Navona, and Piazza Farnese, 500 m from Colosseum, Palatine Hill and Circus Maximus, and 20 minutes on foot from Piazza S. Pietro and Castel S.Angelo.
