About this location
The Lazio region
The name of Trastevere is derived from the Latin trans tiberim (beyond the Tiber). It is the 13TH Rione of Rome. His emblem is a golden lion on a red background.
Is located on the West (right) of the Tiber River and South of Vatican City.
It is one of the most characteristic areas of Rome, beautiful and known to the world. It's the neighborhood that best represents the way of being and that sense of belonging that the locals call it "Roman world". To date continues to maintain a heart and a pride inherited from ancient Rome.
The middle ages Trastevere had narrow, twisty and irregular. Today, still retains its character thanks to the winding streets covered cobblestone overlooked by medieval housing.
Spend a pleasant evening in this area, then eat, drink and be merry in a historical and social context unique in its kind, surrounded by shouting and the music accompanying the nightlife. Live in Trastevere is like living in a village in town, where everyone knows each other and the houses and the walls suggest the Rome of antiquity.
As early as the late afternoon Trastevere fills with young Italians and foreigners who flock to the many clubs and pubs located along its streets. It is one of the liveliest neighbourhoods, the city. Offers typical Roman restaurants, taverns and pizzeria, wine bar and lounge bar for every price range.
All kinds of shops and elegant boutiques are open till late. Most sites are especially piazza Trilussa, piazza di Santa Maria in Trastevere, via della Scala, via del Moro and Piazza Politeama.
In the summer, then, the demonstrations along the Tiber contribute strongly to that fabulous night movement.
Thanks to its strategic position, you can easily reach on foot enchanting places such as Campo di Fiori, Piazza Navona, the Pantheon, Piazza of Spain ...
