The Lazio region
Rome needs no introduction: the city is inhabited by about 3000 years and offers monuments, museums, churches and natural beauty among the richest and most interesting in the world. The whole city is a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
The weather is very mild in winter and hot in summer then tours (walking or cycling) are always very pleasant.
Public transportation is efficient and the underground line A station (Porta Furba Quadraro) is only 5 minutes walk from "The Arches" and allows you to get in the most interesting points of the city in a few minutes.
I'm an official tour guide in Rome and I will be happy to suggest to my guests the best routes and interesting places less known in the city, not to mention my favorite restaurants and the most delicious bakeries and ice cream makers!
The Quadraro (the neighborhood where the apartment is located) has retained its character a bit '"rebel" and indomitable, with the historical inhabitants (Romani de Roma) and a pleasant "melting pot" consisting of new immigrants, students, young artists that give the area an international atmosphere, full of ethnic and local restaurants, pubs, outdoor markets, affordable clothing stores.
The area is rich in traces of the past: the Park of the Aqueducts and Tor Fiscale, the Mausoleum of Alexander Severus (known as Monte del Grano) but you can also visit the largest film studios in Europe: Cinecittà, just 30 minutes walk or do some shopping in the Mall Cinecittà2.
The Quadraro is becoming the neighborhood of Rome, with some of the most interesting artistic murals of the city!
