Newly opened and furnished in January 2013 and awarded 4 star Gold rating by Visit England, this luxurious ground floor apartment has its own front door leading from a small private patio into the spacious open plan living room and kitchen/dining area. Furnished with plush leather sofas and oak furniture and equipped with TV, DVD player, Ipod dock and DAB radio, the living room is a lovely space for relaxing after a day visiting the sights and shops of Bath.
The contemporary kitchen has granite worksurfaces and fitted appliances, including a full-size dishwasher, fridge, freezer and clothes washer/dryer. You will also find a 'Tassimo' coffee machine (we leave you a few coffee pods to get you started) and a full range of china and glassware (including a few champagne glasses for any celebrations you might be planning!).
Both restful bedrooms have luxurious beds with crisp cotton bed linens from The White Company and plenty of pillows and cushions. The large main bedroom has a 6 ft bed which can be separated into twins, Shaker style wooden furniture, a built-in wardrobe and a TV opposite the bed. The en-suite shower room has a spacious shower and a heated towel rail laden with fluffy White Company towels.
The second bedroom is smaller but has a 5 ft king size bed which can also be separated into twins, a built-in wardrobe and a chest of drawers. This bedroom has a wall-mounted TV.
The family bathroom has a full-size bath with a shower over and a glass shower screen. As in the en-suite, there is a heated towel rail with the same fluffy towels.
Herschel Place is in the Bath Conservation Area and was carefully designed and built in 2008 to continue the line of the original Georgian terrace. All the characteristic architectural features of the Georgian terrace have been meticulously reproduced on the façade of the building but the development has the advantage of modern building techniques with insulation, draft-proofing and double glazing – a distinctly un-Georgian heating system keeps the apartment cosy all year round!
Free wi-fi can be accessed throughout the apartment.
Outside the front door of the apartment there is a small, gated patio area with table and chairs and an allocated, off-road parking space (a rarity for central Bath, a city where the roads were built for horses, rather than cars!).
Once you arrive at Herschel Place, a car is no longer needed as the heart of the city is on your doorstep. A level stroll of less than 10 minutes takes you past Georgian terraces, onto Pulteney Bridge and the centre of the city with its world famous sights and shops.
Even closer to the apartment are the beautiful Holburne Museum, Sydney Gardens and access to the towpath for the Kennet and Avon canal.
Bath has countless restaurants and cafes to suit every taste and many are only a short stroll away. Food shopping is also easy, with an excellent Waitrose nearby and several other supermarkets at a short distance. A small convenience store and a good café are less than 100 metres away.
In Number 3 we have tried to create a warm and welcoming apartment which will give you the space, freedom and all the comforts needed for an enjoyable and relaxing visit to one of Britain's most beautiful and interesting cities. We hope you will enjoy your time in our lovely city as much as we do!

The Somerset region
This lovely region of England has beautiful countryside, world-famous sights, thriving cities and quaint honey coloured stone villages. The scenery is a delight, with gently rolling hills and lush valleys, canals and winding rivers.
If you enjoy spending time outdoors, this is a great area for walking, cycling and simply enjoying the fresh air and views. For something a bit different, you can rent a canal boat for the day or just take a boat trip on the river.
Just a short distance from Bath takes you to any number of fascinating sights – the prehistoric monuments at Stonehenge and Avebury; National Trust houses including Stourhead with its Palladian mansion and famous gardens and Lacock Abbey (one of the settings for the Harry Potter films); Longleat House and safari park; Wookey Hole caves and Cheddar Gorge,… Bristol is only 15 minutes away by train (30 mins by car) and Salisbury and Cardiff are an hour’s drive.
Bath really does have something for everyone, from beautiful architecture to tempting independent shops, world-famous sights, elegant gardens for relaxing and spacious parks where children can let off steam.
There are numerous cultural festivals that attract world-class performers, including the famous Bath International Music Festival and an excellent theatre where you can see productions before they transfer to the West End.
The welcoming family atmosphere of Bath Rugby will appeal to anyone who likes sport. There is horse racing at Bath Racecourse, car and motorcycle racing at Castle Combe and numerous golf clubs, both in and just outside Bath. For walkers or cyclists, there are endless beautiful routes to take, many of which start from the apartment(to the rear of the apartment is a private lockable storage room which is ideal for safe storage of bikes and muddy boots). Other activities include cookery schools, glass blowing, chocolate making, etc., etc.....
Of course, Bath is famous for its Roman Baths and you can now bathe in Britain's only natural thermal spa at Thermae Bath Spa.
Shopping here is a pleasure - Bath is great for a spot of retail therapy!
In short, there is lots to choose from!

We have visited Bath several times and tend to book apartments now our children are teenagers. Number3 certainly met our needs. It was beautifully decorated and had all mod cons including the teenagers number 1 requirement (WiFi!). It has a parking space which is a real bonus, and is only 10 mins from the shops and attractions. We would definitively book this apartment again in the future.
I am glad you liked the apartment - thank you. We have found that teenage visitors do appreciate the wi-fi and often the TV in their bedroom too (and our teenager would agree with them)! Glad you all enjoyed it - hope to see you again.

"lovely, central apartment in Bath"
I stayed here with 3 other friends on a girls weekend in Bath. We very much enjoyed our 2 night stay and felt very much at home. We were greeted by Alison who handed over the keys and explained where everything was. She had left us a lovely breakfast package containing freshly baked bread, jams, cereals, orange juice and tea bags which was a lovely treat for us on our first morning. The apartment was clean and well looked after. The small details like butter and chilled water waiting in the fridge and individual shampoo and shower gels from The White Company really made that extra difference. The location was great and after a ten minute stroll we were in the city centre. I would definitely think about staying here in the future should I ever find myself in bath with friends again.
Thank you for your lovely review! We do try to provide a few extra touches to make guests feel at home and it is good to hear you liked them (I am particularly pleased you liked my bread!). I hope to see you in Bath again.

"Fantastic luxury apartment in great location for walking into the City"
Fantastic luxury apartment in a great location within a 10 minute flat walk of town centre. The lovely fluffy towels and excellent quality fittings make this a great apartment for a special occasion. We visited with my elderly mum who has mobility problems and this ground floor apartment gave her the fantastic opportunity to have a luxury stay in Bath, which she enjoyed very much. Thank you Alison and Peter mum had a brilliant time.
I'm delighted you all had a good time. The level access to and in the apartment does work well for those of us who are not keen on stairs, I'm glad it was a help for your Mum. I hope to see you in Bath again!

"ideal way to visit bath"
Apartment comes with its own parking space & is in an excellent location, within a 5 min walk of Pulteney Bridge. The apartment is finished to a high spec, with a modern and clean feel. Open plan kitchen complete with coffee making machine. Owner very friendly and helpful - comprehensive guide to Bath provided, plus maps and 'Big Ben' discount card for certain restaurants and attractions. Home made bread & biscuits provided on arrival were delicious. Overall a very enjoyable stay at a reasonable price and we would recommend/return.
Glad you liked it - thank you so much! Hope to see you again.

"Nice apartment, close to town, very welcoming"
Really nice apartment, the girls especially enjoyed the little luxuries & towels. Welcome pack much appreciated. A short walk into town, almost perfect location, as removed from any hustle & bustle, but no distance to all points in the centre. Friendly reception, really helpful with all our demands.
Thank you for your review. I am glad you enjoyed yourselves and liked the apartment and hope you will visit again.
