The local area is a haven for walkers and cyclists. The stunning scenery found in the glen and beyond makes for a stunning backdrop. If you are 'munro bagging' then the Cottage is ideally placed with 13 munros close by including Carn Eighe (1181m) and Mam Sadhail (1183m).
The River Glass runs close by the Cottage and is a great view from upstairs. It joins with the River Farrar and flows into the River Beauly and boasts great fishing in the beautiful landscape of both salmon and brown trout.
The BBC's Winterwatch, Springwatch and Autumnwatch wildlife programmes have been broadcast live from a few miles up the road. Locally we have badgers, deer and abundant birdlife.
The beautiful Glen Affric Nature Reserve and Glen Strathfarrar are arguably some of the most stunning landscape Scotland have to offer. Both are right on the doorstep of Strathglass Cottage.
The world famous Loch Ness via Drumnadrochit are a short drive away. As well as the visitor centre there are amazing views around the Loch as well as boat trips. Urquhart Castle is open to tourists.
The area boast plenty of golfing opportunities with the Aigas golf course a very short drive as well as the courses at Muir of Ord and Castle Stuart Links.
Locally, Beauly offers amenities as well as the historic Priory.
The Capital of the Highlands, Inverness, is just a short drive away. The City has it's famous Castle and museum. The Culloden Battlefield lays just outside Inverness as does Fort George.
Further afield lays the skiing resort of Aviemore and the stunning Cairngorm National Park. Daytrips to the Orkney Islands run regularly from Inverness.
If you want to sample a 'dram' of whisky, the taste of Scotland, then the Glen Ord, Dalmore, Tomatin and Glenmorangie Distilleries are all possible visits from the Cottage.
