Thanks you very much for taking the time to write a review, and we very sorry you didn’t fully enjoy your stay.
To address your issues
We haven’t ever had a complaint about uncomfortable beds or pillows, we do always ask and it states in our welcome pack if you have any problems please let us know straight away to avoid these sort of problems, we could have bought you fresh pillows or mattress toppers had you let us know you were uncomfortable. The new owners are looking at upgrading the beds for 2017.
With regard to the shower cubicle, again had you contacted us we could and would have quite easily cleared that for you, it really is a shame you didn’t think to let us know.
You’re quite right there are no locks on the bathroom doors as a previous guest took the key, but we will of course now address this issue as soon as possible.
There are mirrors in every bedroom apart from the loft room and we have even left extension leads in cupboards etc so you can easily reach a mirror with your hair dryer, I’m not quite sure how you missed them.
We did get a text from you saying the TV didn’t work which unfortunately we didn’t get immediately but it was followed by another text 2 hours later saying it was working , my brother in law also came to check this, maybe just a case of user error. He also let you know we had 2 spare tv’s at the ready should you need them.
We lived in the loft room for 2 years and always found the tv positioning fine, very sorry you didn’t.
I must agree, with the Cornish sea air the BBQ is a bit rusty so we will replace that.
Unfortunately Cornwall Council, in their wisdom only collect recycling every two weeks, we do our best to help out with this and again had you let us know it was building up we would have come and cleared it for you.
We were not aware of any broken blinds but as previously stated you only had to let us know and we would have come to look at and fix them.
The cleaner did tell you where the extra bedding was and it was used, so you must have found it!
The sofa beds are singles which most people find more convenient sorry you didn't.
Regards Tim & Anna

Thanks for your review of West Lane Cottage. The Thimble Inn has a new landlord (chef) and landlady with effect from late March 2012 and we visited for Sunday lunch on April 1st. A small menu but we tasted a good range between us and all was obviously fresh, home made and delicious. The chef told us that the only thing that had come out of the freezer was our ice and that all that could be home made, would be, and the menu certainly reflects this with homemade bread and brioche, and home cured salmon evident on the Sunday lunch menu. There was also a good smattering of locals in who proclaimed the new residents most welcome and friendly and we agree!
Rectory Road is a small road at right angles to the B314, the High Street running through the village. We do get some farm traffic (especially at harvest time) and some commuters. There is a 30 mph speed restriction, the cottage is double glazed throughout and very few people comment on the traffic. However, if holidaymakers feel that a peaceful lie in is particularly important to them, we would suggest our sister cottage Wren Cottage, Tolpuddle which is beautifully quiet and also offers a countryside view from the bedrooms!

We were a bit disappointed with the apartment.
First of all I would like to mention the electricity meter. It's not a big deal, however since electricity is by £1 meter, I would like to make a point… More
Thank you for your comments.
Sorry that the meter had £9 credit and not £10. This is the normal amount for a week and using meters is pretty standard practice. As your stay was arrival day, two full days and a departure day we are surprised that you found the amount inadequate. Families of four who have stayed for a week have been happy with the amount. It really comes down to individual usage and their requirements. If you used more than £9 of electricity we would be happy to refund you the £1 you mentioned. We find that providing unlimited and free electricity can lead to waste which we do not want to encourage.
We have provided photos of the shower room and WC area so people can see for themselves the overall condition and cleanliness of the property. It is cleaned before and after every booking. We think that "covered" is incorrect and misleading and perhaps a more accurate word could have been used. Some difficult to reach corners have blackened and we will in any event remove the grouting and renew to avoid this issue in future. Again the guestbook does not mention this previously but your comments are valued.
The BlueBar is a well known and liked asset in Porthtowan with weddings and events regularly being held there. The close location of the BlueBar is a feature that most guests enjoy and we have provided photos from the balcony overlooking the BlueBar roof to the beach and sea. Again no adverse comments in the guestbook about the BluBar position and of course we are unable to do anything about that. We will alter the description somewhat to reflect your comments in case others may have an issue with this.
This is the first negative comment we have had about the apartment and whilst dissapointing we dont feel the comments are generally shared. All the comments made in the guestbook have been positive and many have repeated their bookings.
Thanks again for your review.
