We have read your review with dismay. Following a summer of successful lets pre and post your visit we were naturally devastated by your comments made after your holiday and decided to pop down to the lodges to investigate for ourselves. We do not allow pets so I am not sure what the wet dog smell was that you were referring to and certainly on our revisit we were not met by any unwelcome smells. The site housekeeper herself had cleaned the lodge prior to your visit along with several other cleaners and she is adamant that it was cleaned thoroughly. If you had telephoned us with your complaints at the time of your arrival instead of following your departure we would certainly have made sure that everything was to your satisfaction. We understand that you turned the cleaners away after having complained that the lodge was dirty , your review states that you spent 3 hours cleaning the lodge to your satisfaction and yet you waited until the Monday evening at 9.10pm following your arrival on the Saturday and use of the lodge by your family for 2 full days prior to your taking photos of 2 pieces of spaghetti in the cutlery drawer to complain about. We are at a loss to know why you refused to give the cleaners access to address your complaints.
The hot tub had been drained, cleaned and refilled prior to your arrival and was checked daily during your stay, and the hot tub staff confirm that chemicals were added to adjust the water following your use of the hot tub to maintain the water.
The fridge and freezer door were misaligned – not at all how we left them at the start of the summer – the fridge had been pushed back with heavy handling and we were able to pull it forward slightly to realign the doors – thank you for pointing this out to us. Both the fridge and freezer were fully operational. We could not find fault with the door to the TV unit – it appears that you put this back together again after taking the photo. The bedroom door has dropped slightly and after the summer season this will be rehung – fortunately it did still close and lock.
The heating system is a brand new heating system – for it to operate you needed to turn it on. If you had telephoned, again we could have talked you through how to turn it on at the controls on the kitchen wall – the heating was not left turned on as you were staying at the lodge in the height of summer in August but you would have been more than welcome to use it – I appreciate that it is sometimes difficult operating machines, heating systems etc that you are not used to but we were at the end of the phone if you needed to contact us with any queries. There were also 2 freestanding plug in heaters in the downstairs for you to use .
Thank you for pointing out that the extractor fan light was not working – we will get this replaced. We noted that all hob lights were working. We were also glad that you were able to get the spare leisure passes recalibrated at reception to give you extra passes to the leisure centre extra to the fob on your main keys.
We alerted the site to your complaint about a nail in the sauna and they have sent maintenance staff down to investigate– I gather that you did not complain about this to anyone at the time of your visit to ensure the safety of others.
Yes there were 2 stains on the carpets that the cleaners could not get removed prior to your visit – we review the décor on an annual basis and have decided to replace the carpets and settees in both of our lodges along with some of the curtains to give a more up to date look for the next season of letting.

Many thanks for the review. We're delighted you love Blanches as much as we do. Good news for 2012: Waitrose now delivers (as well as Tesco) - a great help when providing for the masses. There is an excellent fishmonger in Fore Street, Fowey as well as the one you found near the fish market in Looe... Lastly, we find the easiest way to get small children to the beach is to drive (2 minutes) to the NT car park in Lansallos and walk down the gentle Smugglers' track past the church. Lansallos Cove is a lovely sand/shingle beach with a waterfall and stream to play in and it's good for swimming. Well worth it!

I am sorry to hear about the issues you had at Overboard and if you had reported the faults on the items you mentioned I am sure they would have been rectified by the house management team. The house under went some major refurbishment during April and May which included a complete redecoration, installation of a new shower room downstairs and a new lobby area with new flooring etc. The laundry facilities were moved into the kitchen area to were the old Aga was located and this has been removed from the property details now. Very sorry to hear about the Pub in Seaton now closing, but there is another bar and beach cafe there.
