“So much more than expected”

Reviewed 3 Dec 2015

Not ones for usually spending weekends away with friends in lovely accommodation I'll be honest and say we have nothing to compare against (except a Dinner/BB hotel break in Celtic Manor and this was SO much better). However, R and C really was perfect for the three families that stayed over the weekend. We arrived to a house that seemed newly renovated, spotlessly clean, modern and incredibly spacious. With 6 adults and 6 children in the party I was concerned before leaving that we may feel like we were on top of each other a little but this couldn't have been further from the truth. A stunning kitchen with superb appliances (two fridge freezers, one with ice dispense and one of those taps you can make instant coffee and tea from were our favourites) with a lovely sitting area overlooking Saundersfoot village and beach became the adults first night venue of choice at great comfort. The teenagers were able to use the massive lounge to watch tv and do whatever teenagers do throughout the evening...the wifi was also great which kept them happy... Our bedrooms were really lovely - we were lucky that our friends kindly gave us the 'master' room as it was my wifes 40th - a huge room with an amazing en-suite and wardrobe room. Other rooms whilst not as luxurious were still very, very nice... The children used the pool which as it was Nov wasn't heated - I even had a dip. I don't recommend it! Im sure it would be awesome in warmer months though! We were able to eat and play board games in the dining room which catered for 8 round one large table and 4 around another. Communication with Robert (the owner) was first class - quick responses to all our queries - lots of support whenever needed. Steve, the caretaker, also made sure we had everything we needed. I would normally like to provide balance and identify something which we were less happy about but we can't think of one thing. I'd assumed we'd spend the weekend out and about seeing the sites of this part of Pembrokeshire but the weather wasn't great and house was so nice we just stayed in... It was above and beyond our expectations and, frankly, perfect. If you are considering it you will not be disappointed with this property...thanks again to Rob...

“Excellent property - highly recommended”

Lovely property with stunning views over Saundersfoot and the bay below. Perfect accommodation for larger families or groups. The standard of furnishings and fittings is superb. Being able to take our little dog with us was a particular bonus. The property is very large and has every facility one could wish for - we were particularly impressed with the bottle of wine and milk in the fridge on our arrival. Highly recommended.

“A wonderful retreat - whatever the weather!”

Reviewed 29 Jan 2015

We stayed at Rumours in April 2014 and January 2015. The first time was with children, the second all adults. The house is exceptionally spacious and comfortable and worked well for all 8 of us to be able to both spread out and spend time together. Although we were lucky with several sunny days along with some rain on both occasions, there is plenty to do whether you choose to go out and explore or stay in. The living room and conservatory area both have comfortable seating and fabulous views to enjoy. The balcony and patio were also well used during our April visit. We also enjoyed cooking in the very well-equipped kitchen (including 2 large fridges and a gas range) which made self-catering enjoyable. The fact that others can join you in the conservatory area of the kitchen or in the spacious kitchen itself also makes it more of a social event than a chore! The beach is a short walk down the hill and great for walking the dog (and children) along exploring the rockpools once the tide is out. The Tesco Express - also at the bottom of the hill - is really handy for picking up supplies. We visited Tenby - short drive - several times which has a larger supermarket, wonderful beaches and shopping. We also explored further along the coast and inland on various adventures which both children and adults enjoyed. In short, the house is ideally located on a beautiful coastline, with fabulous views, plenty to do and is really well equipped to just relax and hang out any time of year! It could work for any mix of ages and Rob, the owner, is a pleasure to deal with - helpful, friendly, easy to contact... We certainly couldn't have asked for a better holiday experience and will definitely be back!

“Beautiful rental for large families with kids/dogs near sandy beaches”

Reviewed 7 Jul 2014

I stayed here (in Rumours & Cymran) with my family (7 adults, 1 toddler and 2 dogs) and we had such a brilliant time. The pool is a lovely temperature and you can look out to the ocean from it. The rooms are all clean and modernly decorated with lots of windows/doors to let in fresh air. The highlight has to be the conservatory/terrace area where you can enjoy outdoor barbecues and family meals! It'll take you around 5 minutes on foot to get to Saundersfoot, a beautiful little town with lovely stretches of beach and then it's around a 5 minute drive to the nearby town, Tenby. It's worth noting that dogs are only allowed on certain parts of the beach in the summer months but there are usually pockets where you can go. Definitely going to come back, Wales has so much to offer!

“Amazing views and amazing apartments”

Reviewed 21 May 2014

We booked both apartments for a group of friends and had a fantastic weekend. The main highlights of the place I'd say were the pool and the views. The pool was heated, and it was lovely to just spend time sat in the sun out on the decking. The views were beautiful (and if you're in the pool it feels like a infinity pool). It looks like Saundersfoot is a long walk but it actually only takes 10 minutes to walk to the beach. The apartments are nicely decorated. We spent most of the time in the bigger apartment. The kitchen area has sliding doors on to the balcony - plenty of room for us to relax with a glass of wine and have a chat while we cooked dinner. I would definitely recommend a stay here and I'd stay again.

“The best weekend of the year”

This is a fantastic property located in the picturesque town of Saundersfoot. Spacious, modern, and comfortable. Ideal party house. Stunning views of the coast. This is the second time we have visited Rumours and Cymran, and can't wait to return!

“We want to live here”

Reviewed 6 Nov 2013

Just returned from a lovely weekend break at this property with a group of 10 friends. it was the perfect party house. Well equipped, well situated with stunning views over the bay. Even though the weather was pretty awful, we all had a fabulous time. The rooms are modern and spacious, toasty warm and huge! The master bedroom and en-suite was massive. There was plenty of space for dancing and plenty of gadgets to keep the blokes happy. It was a shortish stroll down the hill into Saundersfoot itself and we just about managed to park 4 cars in the drive. Had a nice Sunday lunch in Wisemans Bridge Inn. Overall, an excellent weekend, we shall be repeating it.

“The type of place you don't want to leave, and want to return to again and again !”

We would highly recommend Rumours and Cymyran to anyone. It is a perfect setting in a great location with panoramic views of both countryside and also the sea, stretching from the beach and harbour at Saundersfoot to Pendine in the distance. The views are breathtaking from most rooms and from outdoor balcony areas. The house is on 3 levels, and extremely well appointed, with all mod cons. The kitchen is extremely well equipped, with extras such as boiling water on tap, extra large fridge with ice cubes and crushed ice (which the children loved). The bedrooms are well appointed and very comfortable.the master being extremely large with superb en-suite bathroom, which includes both bath and large walk in power shower. The formal dining room and lounge areas have plenty of room to relax however large your party is. The heated outdoor swimming pool was also a great hit with the children, once again with spectacular views. There were 11 of us ranging in age from 10 to 90 years old and Rumours was just perfect for us all and we can't wait to return!
