The Cornwall region

Cornwall is a beautiful county with rugged coastline and stunning beaches. It has a mild climate due to the gulf stream and a relaxed way of life. It is a place where you can just unwind and enjoy the environment or, if you wish take part in numerous leisure activities.

St Austell is home to the historic China Clay industry however it is a market town which has become well known through immense public interest in The Lost Gardens of Heligan and Eden project.

In the town itself there is a cinema, award winning family run brewery, ten pin bowling, leisure centre, beautiful Parish church and shops.

The local area has much to visit. The historic Charlestown harbour is five minutes by car from the cottage. There you will find Square Sail Ships, gift and tea shops, pubs, restaurants and a Shipwreck museum. People like to fish from the harbour wall or sit outside the pubs and watch the world go by. It is often used as a location for films.

There are picturesque fishing villages nearby such as Fowey and Mevagissey and many sporting opportunities. There is a plethoria of pubs selling local beers and good food.

What a wonderful holiday treat! It was a great place to relax, with incredible sea views from every window. The accommodation spacious, very comfortable and tastefully fitted out with all you could possibly need. The little touches such as the welcoming home-baked cake just set the mood for a wonderful holiday. Absolutely zero complaints and it was a pleasure dealing with the owner. Highly recommended for that 'far from the madding crowd' get away.

"Great cottage, super location"

Fantastic cottage, probably the nicest we've stayed in - good quality furnishings and equipment, just like you would have in your own home. Great location, 5-10 minutes stroll from the little beach of Porthpean. near St Austell for shops, supermarkets etc and very well located for trips to the Eden Project and Fowey, among others.

"Great house with fantastic sea views"

The personal touches really set this house apart from other houses, the roaring fire and home made cake really made us feel at home. The views from the house were everything I expected them to be and the house was lovely. If you are looking to stay in this area you will not find a better place to stay. I have already booked my next stay.

"Great location and great views"

Charming cottage with fabulous views of the sea from every window and a short walk to the nearest beach. A lovely touch on arrival is the home made cake. We were particularly unlucky with the weather so were unable to make the most of the veranda or the garden but would imagine this would be a great space to use in the right weather.A great base to easily access the wealth of lovely locations to visit in Cornwall.
