Description

Enjoy a relaxing holiday in a cabin in the woods in mid-Wales. Our two self-catering cabins are located in lovely Welsh countryside, near the market town of Newtown, overlooking the River Severn. Our two cabins are on their own and set in 10 acres of private mature woodland full of wildlife and flowers (bluebells in the woods in spring) and there is access to free fishing in the River Severn included. The cabins are also on the Montgomeryshire Canal, and the towpath is now a popular cycle route as well as being part of the Severn Way. It is only a 10 minute walk to the local nature reserve. Or why not walk to Dolforwyn Castle - a romantic ruin with views up and down the valley. This is an excellent base for walking, cycling and fishing holidays. Ideal for families looking for a good value break. There is lots to do in the local area, including visiting Powis castle, Lake Vyrnwy (RSPB) and Montgomeryshire Nature Reserves or walk to the local castle. Pets welcome. Each cabin sleeps

Location description from owner

The Wales region

Mid-Wales is a relatively undiscovered area of beautiful countryside with rolling hills and farmland. The area is home to the source of both the River Severn and River Wye, and there is lots to see and do. Powis castle is nearby with its fabulous gardens, or you can walk to the ruins of Dolforwyn castle, or take a trip back in time to the beautifully unspoilt town of Montgomery.

Newtown

Newtown is a traditional Welsh market town, on the banks of the River Severn. As well as a variety of shops and its indoor market, there is an art gallery, Robert Owen Museum and Textile Museum to visit. There is also a cinema and lots of pubs and restaurants as well as a bowling alley.
