“Home from home with added extras!”

Reviewed 25 Jul 2016

We have just returned from a perfect stay at the Capel Cartref. We stayed as a family of seven adults and two dogs. The chapel is beautifully refurbished, very clean and spacious. This place is ideal for large groups and families. The locals were very friendly and welcoming. The Chapel is in a great location for visiting the caves, beaches and countryside whilst being close to shopping facilities. We can not think of one negative thing to say. Marnie kept in touch by email offering advice when needed and when we commented there did not seem to be a frying pan In the kitchen, the next day three were delivered to the post office next door! Thank you for making our holiday perfect we will definitely be returning next year!

Hi there and thank you very much for such positive feedback. It seems we could learn lots more about the local area from you. We are very glad you had a lovely break and that the chapel was spacious enough for all of you, as well as the two dogs. With regards to the frying pans, we are sorry we missed the original one's disappearance as we hate to inconvenience visitors at the chapel. Thank you for the 'heads up', we would very much welcome you back. Thank you for looking after it so well. Take care and kind regards, Yonni and Marnie

“Lovely place to stay which is central to many beautiful places.”

Reviewed 3 Apr 2016

A delightful roomy and clean place to stay. We stayed as 2 families and had plenty of room . very well equipped and clean. 3 Bathrooms which was excellent and a lovely wet room with shower. Plenty of seating space in lounge and kitchen for us all to eat together. It is situated in a central area, with a drive to many beautiful places. We visited the caves, these were stunning, waterfalls, The Mumbles , a very stunning Rossilli beach, the lady of the lake which was a beautiful walk. Need to return to visit lots of other lovely places. The owner was very helpful and was excellent in her communication at all times. Arranged for a bottle of bubbly to be delivered as Marnie noticed we celebrating a 21st. Lovely touch. We hope to return next year.

Hi there, thank you very much for the thorough review. Really glad you had enough space and bathroom time. We hope you do return sometime soon as the views never get boring. Thank you for taking care of the chapel during your stay too. Take care, Yonni and Marnie

Clean tidy spacious property with all mod cons. Ideal for our group of 4 adults & 5 teenagers & 3 dogs. Breath taking scenery in & around the Breacons & the Gower Coast. Marnie very helpful, made us feel very welcome. Thanks for the Cava.

Hi there, thank you very much for your prompt review! We are glad you had a good time, and you're welcome re the cava. Thank you for looking after the chapel during your stay, we hope you come back some time in the future, Yonni and Marnie

“Once Again Excellent”

Reviewed 8 Mar 2016

This is our third year running visiting The Chapel. Every year we have a fantastic time. The Chapel is very well equipped and accommodates 10 people comfortably. It is always spotlessly clean and Marnie is one of the nicest people to deal with. The card and bottle of Cava is a lovely touch every time. I would recommend this property every time.

Hey, thank you! It was lovely having you back, you always treat the place so well AND you manage the recycling! Very trustworthy - thank you again and please come back next year (or before). Kind regards, Yonni and Marnie

“Wonderful”

Reviewed 31 Jan 2016

A truly fantastic converted chapel, my friends and I loved our stay. Cosy but spacious, fantastic layout and facilities. Wonderful surroundings as well with a picturesque river running just behind the house. A lovely owner too who was great to deal with. The perfect holiday getaway, highly recommended!

Fabulous! Thank you so much for your lovely comments - you were great to deal with too! I agree the river is picturesque, whether it's gushing after a rainfall or just merely trickling by. Thanks for looking after the chapel during your stay, we hope you come back one day. Kind regards, Yonni and Marnie

“Fantastic accommodation”

Reviewed 4 Jan 2016

Had a 2 night stay in the chapel with my husband, 2 children age 11 and 13, and my parents. We all loved the uniqueness of staying in a chapel and would have liked to stay for longer. It had everything you needed to make it feel like home and was very comfortable. The wi-fi was great for the kids! Was handy having the post office next door if you didn't want to drive to the local Tesco or Asda. The local pubs are great for food, we tried the New Tredeger Arms where they serve the most amazing Sunday lunch and also the Ynyscedwyn Arms in Ystradgynlais which is also a great place to eat. Thank you to Marnie for all the information prior to our trip, really helps plan your time there. Would like to return in the summer months as the location of the chapel is fantastic, the Gower coast is only a 30 minute drive.

Thank you very much and a Happy New Year to you. I will update the information - Ynyscedwyn Arms as it is one we haven't tried! The area is well worth an explore! Thank you for highlighting the convenience of the Post Office and wi-fi. Glad you 'loved the uniqueness' of the chapel and we really do hope you return in the summer or at least for a longer stay. Thank you for looking after the chapel during your stay too. Take care and thanks again, Yonni and Marnie

“Girls weekend away”

Reviewed 9 Oct 2015

Absolutely love this place and highly recommended . Myself and my work colleagues enjoy a lovely weekend break here and the Chapel is so homely and cosy. Lovely local pubs which serve beautiful meals and even the local rugby club is so welcoming. Post Office next door is very handy but there are local shops like Tesco's just down the road too. Close to Swansea, Carmathan and Tenby . Capel Cartref is just perfect and the owners are so lovely and accommodating . Plenty of bathroom and showers faculties and the whole design of the Chapel has been well thought out. Everything you need is there and we just have such a relaxed time there . So will be booking to return next year.

Hi to you all! It was great having you return to Capel Cartref and we are looking forward to you coming back next year. Thank you for your lovely comments regarding the chapel. The location is rather handy, never a shop too far away and the beautiful sights are only a short car journey. Thank you so much for caring for the chapel during your stay; you are clearly conscientious people. Looking forward to your return, Yonni and Marnie

“Unique accomodation in old chapel”

Reviewed 22 Sep 2015

We booked Capel Cartref for a family celebration of my Mum's 90th birthday. Marnie provided lots of helpful information in advance and we were all impressed with the high quality of the accommodation and facilities. The chapel is conveniently located for hiking and cycling in the Brecon Beacons National Park as well as visiting Swansea, Mumbles and The Gower. We had a good celebration lunch at The George which is a mile up the road.

Hello and thank you! So glad to hear that your mum had a comfortable weekend to celebrate her birthday. Thank you for looking after the chapel during your stay. Yes, we've had good feedback regarding The George and, of course, the local attractions. Despite the Gower being a drive away, we feel it is still worth the 30/40 min journey to catch the splendour of it. We look forward to you coming back next year, (if that remains a plan), and thank you once again for your positive feedback. Kind regards, Yonni and Marnie

“Really Fun vacation”

Reviewed 14 Sep 2015

The property is situated within a driving distance to the great beaches, and some great walks - I would particularly recommend the waterfall walk which consists of the three different waterfalls to be found, and is great for photographers. The house itself was clean with good size rooms and an amazing kitchen - there was 8 in total and we all had enough space. An Asda and Tesco is close by so its easy to pick up bits through out your stay. There are also two lovely pubs, we only really tried one which had nice food. I am not sure I saw enough of Wales as there is so much to do so I feel we may have to go back and I certainly will be recommending the chapel to friends and family if not staying there again.

Hello and thank you so much for your review! We are glad you enjoyed exploring Wales and that you found the three waterfalls; there is more to Wales than a lot of people realise! Henrhyd Falls, is the largest waterfall in South Wales, could this be the one you visited? Tredegar Arms and George Inn are now the two local pubs, both of which have had great feedback of late. We are really pleased also to hear that you found the chapel spacious and clean. If you return to Wales, please consider staying with us again as we would love to have you back. Kind regards, Yonni and Marnie

Hi there and thank you so much for your review, you are so efficient! There's quite a lot to pack into a weekend when you include seeing the sights and we are really glad you managed get out to some of them. Thank you for the positive feed back and for mentioning that you would definitely book again AND for looking after the chapel during your stay. Take care and come back soon.
