Heatherlea has three bedrooms to accommodate six people, 1 double, 1 king & 1 twin, plus a travel cot with mattress (please bring your own cot bedding).

Master bedroom has an en-suite shower room, sink and toilet. With views over Morecambe Bay.

King room has a 32" flat screen T.V with freesat.

The family bathroom has a bath with shower over, wash basin and toilet.

The property has two flights of stairs. Stair gates provided.

The property is spacious with lovely views over Morecambe Bay from the master bedroom. An ideal base for walking, cycling or just relaxing, and close enough to explore the magnificant Lake District.

There are a variety of good walks in the area and for the more adventurous why not try Scarfell Pike or the Old man of Coniston. Good local shops,pubs,cafes and takeaways, within walking distance.

Dalton zoo provides a good day out with the kids. The aquarium of the lakes is only a short drive away.

The Lake District

Grange over sands is a pretty Victorian seaside town,with a lovely promenade and has remained much unchanged over the years, perfect as a base to explore the Lakeland Fells and the Lake District. Keswick (1 hour away) is worth a visit. Take a trip to Ulverston where you can see the home of Stan Laurel and visit the Laurel & Hardy museum.

Cartmel ( 2 miles away) is famous for it's sticky toffee pudding,Cartmel races and the magnificent priory, there are also several pubs with good food.

A 6 minute train ride takes you to Arnside where you will find two pubs offering good food, an excellent chip shop and lovely scenic walks.


Dalton Zoo, the Aquarium of the Lakes,the Lakeland motor museum at Backbarrow, boat trips on Lake Windermere, shopping in Kendal or Lancaster are just a few of the things you can enjoy while staying in this beautiful area. Grange also has a small skate park for the BMX, scooter & skateboard enthusiasts.

"Very comfortable & welcoming"

Heatherlea is a lovely cottage, very well equipped, warm and extremely clean, everything you could possibly need during you're stay is there, we had a very comfortable & relaxing few weeks, lovely walks at the end of the road. Yewbarrow woods are brilliant for the dogs, great for kids to explore too. We would recommend Heatherlea to all family & friends. Lynda is a lovely lady too. The gas fire in the lounge gave a lovely feel in the evening if it got a bit chilly, we will definitely consider for a future stay. Thank you so much Lynda

"Delightful, comfortable and exactly as advertised"

Lynda thought carefully and knew precisely what visitors needed. The house was extremely well equipped but the view from the top bedroom window was beautiful. Waking up to this each morning was fantastic. We'll definitely visit again.

"Lovely place!"

Very clean, cosy and tidy place, has everything you may wish for!Even perfect for stay with children-has fireplace guard, safety gates, games etc..Reasonable distance to lake District.The only downside-property is up the hill, so a bit of work when comming back with a pushchair and shopping :) but still worth it.Definitely will be comming back.

"Wonderful vacation cottage!"

What a lovely cottage. The owner was fabulous to work with...from reservations to directions ..she was excellent at communicating with us. The cottage was immaculately clean when we arrived and well furnished. It is located in a nice village and we had no problems finding parking in front of the cottage. The cottage is located on a steep hill and has steep narrow steps so might prevent issues for those with limited mobility or very small children. However, I do have arthritic knees and still found the top floor room and its lovely view worth the climb to sleep up there rather than on the 1st floor. There are no toilets on the ground floor so the stairs are not avoidable. The owner contacted us prior to arrival to ask about gates for the stairs as they can be installed for younger children. I would not hesitate to stay in this cottage again if we return to the area for a holiday.

"Well equipped and comfortable accommodation with tasteful decor"

We greatly enjoyed our stay but because of the location of the property and the fact that the master bedroom with en suite is situated at the top of the house it is more suited to able and active visitors but the view of Morecambe Bay from the top room is ample compensation. The house is uphill from the town (it took us 10 minutes to walk down and a couple of minutes more to walk up) and one of our group only attempted it once and had to stop for breath four times on the upward journey, downward being no problem. There is good, reasonably priced parking in the town should you prefer to drive. It is one of the best holiday homes we have rented and would have no hesitation recommending it.

"Cosy Clean Comfortable Place"

I stayed with my parents, my sister's family and my family including a 5 year old boy. From the moment we arrived our family felt in love with this place. It is a very well managed property, and you can find everything that you need (and even more!) We really enjoyed our stay here. We will definitely come back. Thanks Lynda

"Great location, lovely house - spotless and well-equipped"

Lynda was really helpful throughout, from booking to arrival. The house is fantastically well-equipped, comfortable and spotless. Grange over Sands itself is a good base for the Lakes and further afield. Had a great holiday here with our 4 and 7 year olds.

"Absolutely brilliant"

Was a lovely stay in Grange-over-sands, Lynda had organised everything very well and was there for most of the day we were going to arrive in order to ensure the place was perfect. We had taken several things from home that we expected may not be in the cottage i.e. kitchen utensils, towels, soap etc but everything was provided for and made for an extremely comfortable experience.

"Fabulous New Year break in a beautiful cottage!"

Lynda was extremely helpful from the minute we booked and she has done a fabulous job of making this cottage beautiful. Everything you could possibly need has been thought of and included. Five of us and the dog went for New Year and we had a lovely time. The cottage was spacious and the bedrooms all well done out. The attic room is particularly nice with a fantastic en suite and amazing shower. The wifi, free sat, dishwasher and dryer were all great bonuses. The cottage is located at the top of a hill about a 10 minute walk from Grange. There is plenty in Grange including a very nice butchers and a number of shops, cafes and take aways. We went to the dog friendly Pheasant Inn, which is near by, for Sunday lunch and would definitely recommend it. We loved everything about our break and would most definitely return. Many thanks Lynda for a great time.

"a brilliant base for the lakes"

Found this to be absolutely brill, Lynda made the place very homely and it was such a surprise to see the xmas tree & decorations such a lovely touch. Thank you for the welcome pack which was not expected. The house was so clean and is ideal for friends and family. The location of the property is great as you are in a good position for the lakes, we only had a weekend but found it close to Windermere and Kendal. There are some nice little villages 5 to 10 mins drive away lovely for having a mooch round. Would recommend this place and we are planning to see if we can stay again maybe spring or summer next year.
