Whether you want a romantic break, babymoon, beach holiday or to do something more energetic like surfing, sailing, walking or cycling this is a perfect location. For those with interest in the night sky or wildlife this is also a fantastic spot. Our special location means very little light pollution and little disruption to the wildlife so you have a good chance to see something special when you stay with us.

Converted from a former barn, The Mill is a very spacious property. Upstairs there is a double bedroom with comfortable kingsize bed. There is also a second 'cot' room and we can provide a travel cot for this space. The downstairs of The Mill is a truly stunning space with double height vaulted ceiling, large open plan living

North Cornwall is renowned for its spectacular coastline, beautiful countryside and quaint towns and fishing villages.
Enchanting wooded valleys steeped in history , incredible geology and stunning beaches all add to Cornwall's magic.

The Stoneleigh Knowle Estate, some 75 acres in size, is nestled between the ancient villages of Poundstock and Weak St Mary only 5 Miles from the town of Bude and about 5 minutes to the beach.

The estate is very well situated to get easy access to 'The Atlantic Highway' (A39) which in turn enables great access to the rest of Cornwall and also North Devon.

The following are times by car to just a few places of interest:

Bude

The estate is situated in and 'Area of Special Landscape Value' and there is plenty to keep you relaxed there with woodland walks and places to picnic or to sit and watch nature or fly a kite.

From the estate, walks can be taken to the English Heritage Penhallam Moated Manor or into the village of Week St Mary and to the Tudor Gildhouse at Poundstock.

Just a short distance beyond Poundstock is the stunning North Cornwall coastal path and an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty . This Coastal Path joins up with the River Neet and Bude canal, with its' otters and lovely cycle path.

The area is probably best known for its stunning sandy beaches and secluded coves. You can go: surfing ,body-boarding, sea-kayaking, coastal steering, rock pooling and sandcastle building and then finish it off with a lovely local ice-cream. There are a good selection of beaches that allow dogs in the summer and others which are dog-free zones.

There are plenty of options for cycling; The North Cornwall Trail (National Cycle Route 3) passes just 200m from the gates to the estate and other routes like The Camel Trail are very accessible. Please see our website for more cycling information.

Local food lovers will be spoilt for choice with the great selection of eateries, butchers, fish mongers, bakers, the farmer's market not to mention our local wines, beers, pasties and famous Cornish cheeses.

Bude has a good selection of pubs, restaurants and independent shops including 'Wroes' which is one of the country's few remaining independent department stores. A Farmers' market operates on a Friday in the summer months.

“A fantastic brake away in beautiful surroundings”

Reviewed 12 Nov 2012

A lovely place to go for a family brake away. We tuck our two dogs with us and they loved it too. Rebecca Palmer is fantastic too, made us feel very welcome and always at the end of the phone if we had any questions. We can't wait to book up again

“Magical......”

Reviewed 5 Nov 2012

Thank you so much for the most incredible week... Your house is amazing... So cosy and beautifully designed... The location is perfect, the bed so comfortable that we did not want to get up!! The woodland is beautiful and perfect for morning walks, and the beaches or Bude and Widemouth Bay are close enough for an afternoon stroll... Basically, time stood still and we shall not forget our stay... In fact, about to book again for early next year!! Abigail :)
