Location description from owner

The England region

Blessed with a mild climate, fabulous sandy beaches, amazing surf, incredible walks both coastal and across the untamed moors and fascinating history. From great pubs to michellin star restaurants, add on breathtaking sun sets challenging golf courses and little secluded coves to explore, there really is something for everyone. And these are just some of the welcoming aspects of the West Country. With cider and cornish pasties to scrumptious cream teas, Rick Stein, Jamie Oliver, Nathan Outlaw, The Tanner Brothers, Michael Caines plus many other talented unknown chefs make the area a gastronomes delight. From The Eden Project to the Lost Gardens of Heligan. Padstow and the quaint fishing village of Port Issac, famed for the filming of the very poular Doc Martin. Boscastle with its16th century quay and witches museum, Tintagel and the legend of King Arthur to the unique cobbled streets of Clovelly and perhaps the wildest of all the heritage coastline - Hartland. With its sheer rugged cliffs and tales of ship wrecks, piracy and smuggling. Also the National Trust has many properties within easy distance and RHS Rosemore will have keen gardeners pottering for hours. So if you believe the tales of smugglers on the shore and fairies in the fields this is the place for you!

Bude

Steeped in history the ancient market town of Stratton offers two superb eating pubs, The Kings Arms and The Tree Inn, famous for being the home of the last Cornish Giant. The friendly village shop offers newspapers and daily basics. Approx half a mile away is a major supermarket. Opposite which you will find a leisure centre with an indoor swimmig pool and Ten Pin Bowling. But probably the most exciting aspects are the spectacular beaches of Bude and its surrounding areas. Whether you enjoy surfing, fishing, swimmiing or a relaxing walk along the rugged cliffs, the area is outstanding. With three top class golf courses within twenty minutes drive, the links course at Bude is just five minutes away. Maer Lake and Bude canal are havens for many species of birds and attract bird lovers from all over the country.

“Tremendous Weekend”

Reviewed 25 Jul 2013

Me & my parter stayed here for a long weekend, it was absolutely perfect. The apartment had everything we could have wanted and more. It was spotlessly clean and spacious It's a short drive / nice walk to Bude. There is a lovely pub called The Tree Inn only 2 minutes away which serves great food. Gill & Geoff were lovely and made us feel very comfortable and were very accommodating to out 2am arrival by leaving the lights on for us. We look forward to visiting Bude again.

“Fantastic value for money, spotless, very spacious, quiet, close to shop/pub, lovely welcome, Book it!!”

Reviewed 26 Mar 2012

Just arrived home from a 4 night stay. On arrival we had a load of goodies, bread, milk, butter, jam and biscuits with lovely flowers on the table. Excellent quality towels and bed lined were provided. There was a washing machine and airer which came in handy for little one's clothes. I don't know why but from the pictures I thought that the bedroom was adjoined to the living area, but after arriving I was really pleased to find that there was a utility room, housing the fridge and washing machine separating the living accommodation. I was a bit worried about having our 7 month old daughter sharing our room and us having to walk through to use the bathroom, or sneak about because it was adjoined. But this really was not the case, because of the size of the living area as well as two doors separating us from the bedroom we were able to have the TV on a reasonable volume and use the bathroom without disturbing her. We walked less than 5 minutes to one of the local pubs (there are two) on the first night which started serving food at 6pm. There is also a local shop selling essentials which is just around the corner from the pub. The accommodation is ideally suited for visiting South Devon and North Cornwall and is only 2 minutes by car to Bude. We really thought the accommodation was excellent value for money, it was spotless, very spacious, close to amenities and the owners made us feel very welcome.

Owner's reply: Thank you for your kind comments, so pleased you enjoyed your stay, look forward to seeing you again.
