This delightful, well equipped holiday home is ideally situated in a quiet cul de sac, yet only a few minutes walk from the lakeside and the bustling streets which boast a wonderful variety of shops, cafes and restaurants.

The self catering accommodation sleeps up to six in three comfortable bedrooms, two doubles and one twin, and it's tranquil setting makes it perfect for small groups and families alike.

Ellen Brow is the perfect holiday base for visiting the many attractions of Bowness, with Lakeside walks, water sports, the Beatrix Potter Exhibition, museums and art galleries all nearby. The steamer cruises on Lake Windermere are very popular with two destinations, Lakeside to the south (Aquarium of the Lakes and Lakeside to Haverthwaite

steam railway ) and Ambleside to the north. Within a short drive are many National Trust properties and historic buildings too. The beauty and grandeur of the Lakeland Fells surrounding Lake Windermere, entices visitors to explore the many walks, cycle paths and mountain climbs, whilst other lakes such as Coniston Water, Ullswater and Derwent Water are within easy reach for wonderful days out. “Very comfortable house with wonderful views of lakes and mountains; perfect location.”

Ellen Brow is conveniently located very close to the shops but at the same time is tucked away in a quiet, tranquil little road. The views of the lakes and mountains from the front windows are breathtaking so even in bad weather, sitting inside you still feel a part of it all. The bungalow is comfortable and well equipped and we immediately felt very much at home. We had a wonderful time, thank you Enid.

“Good location - convenient for all local amenities”

We ended up at Ellen Brow following a very late cancellation (day before) from another owner who had double booked their property yet had received two significant payments for the same week. That said fate provided us with a superior facility. Apart from the view from the lounge and front bedroom of Lake Windermere the accommodation was very clean and well maintained, well equipped and a short walk to local shops and restaurants. It was also in close proximity to 3 golf courses - 1 x Windermere and 2 x Kendal, The booking process and key collection were very easy and adequate information was provided both about the accommodation and local facilities. Whilst Bowness has Tesco and Co-Op locals we tended to use the Booths in Windermere and the Morrisons in Kendal for our main shops. Given the Lakes tendency to wet weather I would strongly advise membership of the National Trust who have a good number of places to visit and car park facilities in the locality. My only slight whinge is about the lack of re-cycling facilities both at the accommodation and in the local area - the closest bottle bank seemed to be in Kendal!
