“Wonderful Holiday” We booked Hazel Brow with the view to spending time together as a family and a break from the mad frenzy of work, we were not disappointed. The house itself is huge and beautiful inside and out, the main lounge provides the perfect setting for family games nights ( you can find lots of games in the snug ). For those who want to spend an evening relaxing the snug is the perfect room where you can curl up in front of the open fire with a book. The kids loved playing hide and seek in the house which was made even better by using the second staircase ( or secret passage as they referred to it) to escape capture. The bedrooms are beautiful, comfy beds, crisp white linen and wonderful views from the rooms. A special treat is pampering yourself in the freestanding bath whilst looking out over the landscape which is picture perfect. We spent our days wandering the hills ( there are lots of walking maps in the snug) and fishing in the river which is a short walk across the fields in front of the house, although fast flowing the river is very shallow along the banks where younger ones can sit with a net and fish for tiddlers. Christine is wonderful and ensures the house is equipped with everything you could possibly need for your stay, the kids loved being able to feed the goats ( which we though were sheep) on a morning and evening after a quick lesson from Christine on how to feed them and how much food they should have. They may have put on a little weight during our week there as the kids all wanted to give them a scoop each, it was a lovely sight to see my youngest daughter wandering across the field with a bucket of food followed by her two younger brothers and their 5 year old cousin, three goats and their babies. If your idea of a break in the country is beautiful accommodation in wonderful countryside and time spent relaxing with family/friends then this is the place for you.
