“Tranquillity, with Stunning Views” We stayed at this beautiful Villa called “The Retreat” in July 2018, located a few miles south of Polis. The Villa is set reasonably high, affording it sublime 180 degrees views across the southern panorama and looking around in the distance there are farmland parcels and one-off villas. Most of the time, this is coupled with that golden sound track of “silence”. The Villa is well proportioned. Construction, layout, furniture and internal decoration are all well done and more than adequate. There were only the two of us and we used the en-suite bedroom upstairs and spent most of our time outside. Dark wood used internally makes the inside space dark with the shutters closed, but this is a modern villa. The swimming pool is gorgeous and its non-rectangular shape makes it look even nicer. For us, the garden was very important as we wanted to take lots of photographs of animals and biodiversity. There are many fruit trees which add to the overall pleasance of walking around the garden. For those interested in playing games there is table-tennis, pool table, dart boards and table football but the swimming pool and the garden win hands down. There are generous settings of tables, benches and chairs outside and a BBQ. Stone-clad walls and shutters keep the inside just cool enough downstairs but in July, at night, the air conditioning is needed to take edge of the excessive heat upstairs in the bedroom. The swimming pool affords complete privacy and this together with peace and quiet attracted us to this Villa.
A couple of miles straight down the road is Byrons Supermarket which will cater for most needs but for comprehensive food and drinks shopping there is Papantoniu Supermarket in Polis along with a very good fish mongers opposite the pharmacy. Polis is also the closest beach.
If one’s looking for a holiday property that is a perfect “getaway” with all that’s needed to hand, a fabulous swimming pool area, garden, all in total privacy then one need look no further. Simply wonderful.
“This is a wonderful villa” This is a wonderful villa set in a lovely Cypriot village just out of the tourist area but close enough to the tourist area using the car. Only a short trip but because you have the car we tried different beaches, Konnis Bay our favourite, we also used some of the hotel pools and loungers. The beaches are wonderful though didn't travel that far to sit by a pool. The neighbours are lovely and nothing seemed too much trouble. The car gave us the bonus as we always hire a car on holiday so a free one was brilliant. The village has everything; bakery's to die for, a supermarket and sadly you can buy British newspapers from the kiosk, restaurants/bars which aren't too expensive. The villa was modern and to a very high standard, with Bosch appliances in the kitchen and 42" TV with dvd's if we had time to watch any. (Just like it says on the tin, or in this case the brochure). There are a couple of play areas yards from the villa and no cars other than the neighbours and the farmers so the children can play outside with no worries. If the villa had a pool that would be a bonus but the car more than made up for it. I would have no problems going again (or recommending it to family and friends) and we are looking to see if we can get back again in the near future.
“Great apartment on lovely complex” Stayed for three weeks in August, with my brother and niece, and had a lovely relaxing time.
Located around 20 mins walk from harbour which is perfect for the fun/relax balance, the apartment is beautifully furnished with everything that you could want. The pool area, with infinity pool, was beautiful with no 'bun fight' for sun loungers!
Being a residential complex, everyone is really friendly and full of local knowledge and info - anything you need to know, somebody will be able to help.
Would highly recommend this apartment to anyone - couples or families alike, something for everyone.
“Excellent Villa Margaret” Villa Margaret is excellent, very well presented. We stayed for two weeks in August 2012. From the bedrooms to the Jacuzzi outside the villa feels very luxurious. Booking was easy and the owners are very friendly & helpful. I would highly recommend a stay. We have even stayed in the owners other villa opposite which is to the same high standards as Villa Margaret.
“Amazing villa in a stunning location” We absolutely loved this villa. It was well equipped and everything had been thought of. The swimming pool was stunning and the hot tub was a great addition.
As we had been to Cyprus before we didn't hire a car as we wanted a relaxing get away from it all holiday. This is the ideal place for that. We walked into Peyia village in around 15 mins where there are ample bars and restaurants. Our favourite was the Mediterranean, which opened at lunch as well as for evening meals, you must try the dancing potatoes!! We also enjoyed the Greek night at the Savvas Grill and the Peyia Tavern where the waiter is the menu! We even walked into Coral Bay one night, which took a while....... it is a more upbeat touristy area but there are some good cocktail bars, restaurants and music.
If you are on foot you can go into the Phillipos Supermarket in either Peyia or Coral Bay and if you spend 30 euro they will deliver you and your shopping back to your villa free of charge.
We had a great stay at the villa and would definitely return. Thanks for having us.
“All boxes ticked” Spacious well appointed Villa with quality fixtures and fittings.
As working parents with 2 teenagers we value our holidays, many may think our holidays are boring as we enjoy vegging out in and around the Villas we rent, Villa Pedro is ideal for a relaxing holiday, the roof terrace was our 2nd home for the duration, popping in and out of the Hot-Tub/Spa looking out to the sea in the distance all of this underneath cloudless skies.
For a change we would swim and sunbathe by the pool.
With a 20 minute walk you are in the busy Fig Tree Bay strip, or 5 to 10 minute walk to the sea and local beach........Needless to say we will be booking again..The Crouchmans
“Fantastic location.” Bus stop right outside only a euro to go any where. And 2.50 euro for all day pass right uptill last bus in morning from Ayia napa at 4.30 am.
Beach close and water sports especially scuba diving great.
Lovely restaurants in perena. Would highly recommend the villa.
“Good apartment in a well appointed complex, close to village.” This studio apartment is well situated within the complex, very close to a lovely pool and handy for the bar which serves reasonable "pub" food. It has its own patio (with shaded area) and is well equipped for a self catering holiday.
There is a cool, shaded area in which to park the car, which in the heat of Cyprus is most useful and the apartment itself is air-conditioned although we didn't really need it despite very hot temperatures.
There is a small but private bedroom and a double bed-setee which was perfectly comfortable.
There are a couple of places to eat in Tersafenou - the main bar which, whilst basic served good local food with good service. Try also the main Taverna but check opening times.
The Elysian Fields Spa Resort is about half an hours easy drive from Larnaca Airport.
We were there birdwatching and there are excellent areas between Meneyou and the coast as far along as the Airport perimeter fence.
“Fantastic facilities and superbly furnished - everything you could need and want!” This villa certainly has the wow factor and we couldn't fault the facilities, comfort or experience. Everything was immaculately clean and well presented. The kitchen is more than well equipped and made eating in a real pleasure. We made good use of the built in barbecue and ate out on the terrace one evening which was really lovely. The pool was really clean and we made good use of it - it's the ideal size for a family to all enjoy. I would strongly recommend renting a car or a quad bike - the villa is a few miles from the main part of Ayia Napa and a very long walk in the heat. Taxis cost between 10 and 15 Euros each way (15 euros was for a 7 seater limousine). For us, the villa is ideally positioned away from the hustle and bustle of Ayia Napa but close enough to be a short 5 minute or so drive. We had our best meal in the little fishing village, Potamos, a couple of miles away. Ayia Napa is full of restaurants and bars so there's no shortage of choice. We have already recommended the villa to a family member who is considering booking it!
“Beautiful Villa” An absolutely wonderful villa with everything you need for an extremely enjoyable holiday in the sun. The villa was clean, well maintained and extremely spacious for the 8 of us staying for the two weeks. The Owner provided everything we needed and even brought us fresh eggs and tomotoes from the farm. We picked fresh limes from the tree in the garden for our Gin & Tonics, bliss... The tranquility of the location was so relaxing and you really felt that we were away from it all. I would thoroughly recommend this to my friends and family and would have no hesitation in returning.
“Fantastic relaxing time!” Very clean and well equipped apartment, worth every penny, highly recommend this place, organisation getting the keys was spot on and a lovely surprise to find all the essentials you need for a late night cuppa and breakfast not forgetting the nice cool water, just what we needed after a long trip. Ten out of ten!!!
“Can't wait to return to idyllic Thalassa” I had only been to Southern Cyprus before this trip, and while there are some beautiful places to visit, I feel like it's become a bit spoilt and a friend advised that Northen Cyprus would renew my love of the island....and they were right! The people are friendly and genuine, the food is absolutely delicious and there's so much natural beauty, coastline and unspoilt countryside.
We stayed in a beautiful apartment in the Thalassa resort - tastefully decorated by the owner, with all mod cons, who could not have been more helpful when we booked it, giving us as much information as he could about where to go, car rentals and any other little questions we had.
The resort itself has an amazing pool, but I loved lounging on the jetty that juts out into the sea from Thalassa's own private beach. The surroundings are full of wild flowers and we went on some gorgeous walks along the coast - though I think it would be too hot to do this much later than the end of May.
I think it's useful to have a car as there is not anything really within walking distance, though I understand that soon after we were there a little cafe/grocery was opening on site. But in any case, it's worth having a car to explore the island a bit - the wild Karpas with its stunning beaches, a day trip to Kyrenia and Bellapais amongst others. I look forward to seeing more of beautiful places since we hope to return next year.
The kitchen has everything you need to rustle up some meals with the lovely fresh local produce and there's even a barbecue on the stunning roof top balcony with views across the sea and a hot tub! We also enjoyed a few restaurants that the owner recommended that are between five and twenty minutes from the resort - ALL delicious. Everything tastes better when there's a view of the sea. There are also two 5* hotels which are a five minute drive away, where you can also eat, or we just stopped by for a drink. I'm told you can even use their facilities for a small fee, but we didn't need to as we loved the atmosphere at Thalassa.
All in all it was the perfect holiday for us in a really lovely and comfortable apartment and I'm already planning my next adventure there.
“Excellent standard of accomodation and service - Highly recommend” We stayed in Apartment 225 in the Akamas Health Resort which is an oasis in Cyprus. The resort is spotless, well run, friendly, well designed and feels like absolute luxury. It is perfect for a tranquil get away from it all. It is a little cooler up in the hills so in October when we were there we didn't even need air con to sleep. The apartment was cleaned regularly during our two week stay, with fresh towels and linen. The interior design is modern luxury, with beautiful marble floors and white leather sofas (not my usual taste, but perfect for this setting) The washing machine was a great help especially as we made full use of the gym during our stay.
Best of all was the hot tub on the roof terrace next to the BBQ. The views are spectacular over Polis and Latchi and to sit and watch the stars in the hot tub was a regular highlight of our holiday.
The resort itself is on a steep hill, next to a small village - Droushia, and all apartment blocks are within walking distance of each other. The facilities are all to a very high standard, the indoor pool however was ice cold, so only venture into that if you are feeling very brave. The food in the restaurant was delicious and probably to the highest standard we had while in Cyprus. Presently, it seems that as the resort is only about 2 years old it is very quiet with lots of space, no fights for sun loungers etc with other guests. Every single staff member was friendly and helpful and it was so nice for once to be treated as you would expect from a 4* resort.
The resort is in a excellent location up in the hills between Coral Bay and Latchi / Polis so you can have your pick of the beaches. Although a car is essential, we highly recommend taking a drive down into the Akamas Peninsula to have a BBQ lunch at The Last Castle near to Lara Bay.
We would go back in a heartbeat, we thoroughly recommend the resort and apartment 225 especially, because it had such amazing views from the hot tub, with a large roof terrace and a more private enclosed feeling being at the back of the resort, overlooking everyone else.
“Exactly as advertised!” The apartment was exactly what we hoped it would be. It was spacious and clean with a balcony hosting amazing views. The balcony had a table with 4 chairs, 2 sun beds and an umbrella so perfect for relaxing at anytime of day. Beds were a little hard and no safe but have passed that on to the lettings company. The pool had the same views and perfect for a cool down after a day out. Not many sun beds so not really designed for all day sunbathing. Onsite friendly managers so any issues were dealt with very quickly.
Excellent position a few minutes walking to some excellent tavernas and a supermarket. Would recommend a car so you can explore the area.
Would definitely recommend staying here and we hope to go back soon.
“Quite simply an amazing experience.” From booking stage with Matthew till departure, our visit was quite simply an amazing experience. It was late when we arrived so a member of staff helped us find our way to the apartment and carried some of our luggage. The apartment was on the first floor (lift available) with a balcony overlooking the swimming pool. There is a water cooler in the apartment which is great… so don’t forget to buy a large bottle of water! The beds were comfortable with extra bedding available if needed. The air conditioning was a life saver with the warm weather and it is available in every room. There is a huge shopping mall that sells everything you could wish for and more! The supermarket there is very reasonable and it’s not too far away. We would suggest a quad or buggi safari… such a fun day out and the staff were great – two tips, wear sunglass and sun cream! The beaches were beautiful and the restaurants too. We would suggest the raffles on the strip down the road. What can I say, a great atmosphere, great food and great service plus a complimentary brandy to finish off the excellent meal. We loved our time here and have already booked for next year!
“Great Apartment, Fantastic Location, Amazing Holiday” We stayed at Arhun's apartment for a week in May, with our three small children and had a wonderful holiday. The apartment itself is very clean and spacious and has everything that you might need whilst you are on holiday. Arhun had provided a welcome pack which was above and beyond anything that we had expected; it even included ice cream and cold beer! The Lapta Pines development is lovely and very well maintained. It has a lovely swimming pool and spectacular views of the mountains. It is also very near two small beaches, which are very picturesque, safe for the kids and very quiet (there was nobody else on them). There is lots to do in Lapta and the surrounding area but equally it is great to just relax by the pool. We had an amazing holiday and would highly recommend it.
“Wonderful stay in a quite and beautiful place” Perfect stay in a "de luxe" apartment, very quite place, beautiful swimming pool, private beach, public beach with attractions 4km away, golden beaches at 1 hour drive, owner very available for any question before/after the stay, property management very kind and helpful ! We definitely recommend this place !
“Excellent Holiday in perfect location” Recently spent two weeks in the F1 townhouse - couldn't ask for more from the accommodation, everything was as described and well maintained and clean. Max the property agent organised my taxi transfer for me and met me at the accommodation and showed me round the property and showed me where everything was and how everything worked.
Pool was clean and immaculate and the bar, ran by Ivan was great too, well priced food and drinks, couldn't have asked for more
“Great stay” Had a fantastic stay at this apartment. Very nicely furnished and much higher standard of construction than any other place we have stayed in Cyprus.
Nice pool for the kids and an easy stroll into town for all the restaurants etc.
Will definitely return if back in Paphos sometime.
“Lovely Apartment with everything you need” Lovely quiet Location. You need a car to get out although we only hired on for 3 days to visit Paphos, Larnaca and Poussouri. You can get a bus from Mandria Village to Pahos but they finish about 4.30pm coming home and only run about 4 times a day.
The apartment is lovely with a fantastic balcony and the kitchen is fully equiped.
The village of Mandria is very quiet but has 3 taverns, a cafe that shows all the premier league football matches which was a must for my Sons and a Fish a chip restaurant. George's and the Fish and chip shop are the best. You can get takeaway from the fish ands chip shop also if you wish.
Annette the owner was great and even provided a complimentary welcome pack - A taxi was ordered for us to pick us up at the airport from Jack's taxis and we used them to go back home also very reliable. She answered all questions and was easily contactable.
The only let down was the beach it is not a very good beach at Mandria and there are no facilities there for a drink or anything really. There are beaches in Paphos and other resorts to go to but it woudl be nice if this beach was made a good beach.
We loved it here, if you like peace and quiet then this is the place for you. It is only about 20 minutes in the car to Paphos and there are other little villages you can visit for meals only about 4 to 5 kilometeres away.
The weather was good for 6 days out of the 7 we were there 24 to 26 degrees in October is great.
