“Perfect apartment, perfect location” We thoroughly enjoyed our stay, This is a beautiful, spotlessly clean, fully equipped apartment in a quiet location. The beds are extremely comfortable, rooms are light and airy with plenty of storage space. The patio is great for morning coffee or al fresco dining. We had a couple of rainy mornings but the children were more than happy with a selection of dvds, board games and pool. The beach, shops and restaurants are all within easy walking distance and a land train runs regularly from Boscombe Pier to Bournemouth and Southbourne so driving really isn't necessary. All in all a wonderful apartment in an ideal location made this the perfect stress free holiday. We will be back, Thank you Jo.

“Idealic” Perfect accommodation in perfect location.. parents of 9 and 11 year old.. surf shops to hire board for great week, great play area a stones throw away, attached to fab pub called Unicorn on the Beach, where all the children from the beach in the day play in the evening, whilst parents enjoy a cocktail. Coffee Hatch, local mini Market, ice cream parlour. No need to use the car, and a very close parking space with permit adds to convenience. Mezzanine bedroom lovely with 2 velux that let the sea breeze and wave noise flow in.. great night's sleep. A really lovely week's stay.

“Very comfortable apartment” What a surprise, the apartment was much bigger than we expected, a real home from home with every thing to hand to make our stay easy. We found it clean and tidy and nicely laid out..... So close to the beach. West Bay hosts a pretty harbour and has a lot of eating places, just the place to make new friends. We found the locals very friendly and easy to talk to. A good base for lots of wonderful walks. We were a little disappointed that the sea defence works had not finished the week we were there, a little noisy and dusty but once it is finished it will be great.... A good works in progress. Thank you Katrina and Laurie, you have been very helpful, informative and easy to communicate with.

“A haven of peace and tranquility” Just returned from out 3rd visit to Downe Cottages, this time staying in Vine Cottage which is now our favourite. Very light and airey with lovely views over the garden- a perfect retreat for two. The cottages are very well equipped and are so quiet and peaceful in a beautiful setting and location (once you have navigated the narrow lanes from Hartland!). We have stayed in a number of cottages in the UK and these are definitely the nicest so far. The only slight downside is that there is nowhere within walking distance for good food although the Hoops Inn at Bucks Cross on the a39 was excellent when we visited. The local pub is okay but we weren't thrilled and thought it was quite pricey for what it delivered. We didn't have time to try the meals from the 'cottage delivery service' as we were out and about rather a lot. The cakes and cream teas at the Cheriston Lavender Farm are excellent and within a short walking distance of Downe. Well worth a visit. The cream teas at Stoke Barton Farm are also lovely and only a short drive away. All in all a wonderful week despite, at times, some rather disappointing weather.

“Fantastic apartment” Had a wonderful 4 days in this great apartment, nice and clean and well equipped. Great view of the beach from the balcony. The owner Brian was there to greet me on arrival and show you around the apartment and explain everything you need to know. Even though your in an apartment block it was very quiet and relaxing. I will definitely be booking again, thank you Brian
