VILLINO FLAMINIO (cottage)

Home description

The atmosphere of VILLINO is romantic and comfortable. It is wonderful for a couple, for a couple + 1 or 2 friends (1big bed + 2 single beds) or for a family - a couple with 1 or 2 children. You'll enjoy the peace of VILLINO after a day' strolling in rome and hours of sightseeing or visiting monuments. You'll not hear noises of cars, etc.. You'll smell fresh, pure air and you'll hear birds' songs ...all this at only 9 kms from the big city.

House is very well linked to Rome. Buses stop at 100 mts, so you do not need a car. Minimarket is at 100 mts, in front of the bus stop. And the owners can prepare you - on request - a real italian dinner, or teach you italian, or take you to the next metro station...!

The Lazio region

Villino flaminio is situated in a park area, VEIO PARK. Veio was an ancient etruscan town, the most southern in Italy, conquered by romans - emperor Furio Camillo -. You can visit many places of interest in the area and one for all, the wonderful little town, well-preserved, of Calcata or Isola Farnese, etc... All this at just few kms from rome....!

Rome / Montecaminetto area

Sacrofano montecaminetto is a little suburb north of roma, with a little medieval centre, but it is very well linked to rome: you can reach ROME DOWNTOWN in 25 minutes by train, which stops straight in PIAZZALE FLAMINIO, VILLA BORGHESE, PIAZZA DEL POPOLO,..... and you can WALK from there to PIAZZA DI SPAGNA and FONTANA DI TREVI ..... And when you're back, after a day in the "eternal city", you can enjoy the peace of your chalet in the roman countryside, under the trees, and relax yourself..........

Further details indoors:
It is the dependance of our small villa, so you are independent but not isolated. You are at the countryside, but at only 9 kms from Rome: relaxing and easy, practical and comfortable at the same time. . The house is surrounded by a wall and a garden, shared in common. On the left, there is guests' house. On the right, there is owner's house.

Villino is 2 rooms: one romantic bedroom with a big bed for 2, + one living room with a kitchen corner and 3rd bed. 4th bed and 1 cot for children available. Fireplace, satellite tv and big bathroom with shower. One of the things most worthy is the beautiful, outside space in the garden under a "pergola" with table and chairs , to have a rest, a coffee, to eat, etc... in the good season. While in winter, we offer free wood to our guests for the fireplace. Air-conditioned available, even if not necessary (charge: 10 euros x day)

Garage under the house.
House situated in a park area : Parco di Veio, etruscan area (Veio was en etruscan town, the most southern in italy). Archaelogical sites. At 7 kms, you can visit the little village of Sacrofano, with a small medieval core.
At 30 kms, the wonderful little village of Calcata - read about it, on section "travels" of NEW YORK TIMES, january 2007.
At 30-35 kms (less than half a hour), Bracciano lake (visit the castle). If you prefer the seaside, go and have a swim at the coast of Fregene. Or - if you want go further, after Fregene - to Santa Severa beach (45 minutes from home) with its castle on the beach, or to the coast of Sabaudia, with its "dunes".
Last sunday of each month: fair of antiquities in Campagnano, 15 minutes from home.
On tuesday and saturday, market at Prima Porta, 5 minutes from home.
Each sunday, obviously: the big, big market of Porta Portese, in Rome.....

Garden shared with the owners.
Prices include: gaz, water, electricity, towels, sheets, final cleaning. Charge for air conditioning: 10 euros a day.
Dinner available (FREE) , if arrival late (after 19.30, but before 24.00 please!).
Italian breakfast available, in the good season - from may to september , served in the garden - with little charge (3 euros x pers.) and it includes: cornflakes (2 types), fresh bread, croissants, butter, jam, honey, yoghurt, cakes, milk, coffee or tea.

Conditions

Pets - dogs - are welcome, we have a dog too (a boxer, very friendly).
