The Stables is situated in the beautiful village of North Stoke (once nicknamed the 'Secret Village'), surrounded by open unspoilt countryside and spectacular views of both Bath and Bristol. Set beside a Roman Road and on the Cotswold Way it boasts many fantastic walks so dogs are very welcome.
The property is within the owners own grounds and the conversion was completed in May 2010 into a bright and spacious living space. It has a large open plan lounge with a wood burning stove (for those cosy nights in) and sky TV so you don't miss any TV favourites, with a well equipped kitchen and dining area. There is a king sized bedroom, a double bedroom and a large bathroom with a separate shower and bath. French doors open out to a vast decked area. where a hot-tub is situated as is a gas barbecue and sun loungers. This is an enclosed area so ideal for children and dogs. For those with a bit more energy there is a tennis court with rackets and balls for your use. A outside swimming pool can also be made available for guests exclusive use until 5.30pm. Children (and adults) are welcome to collect eggs from our hen house and even stroke the newly acquired 6 month old donkey called Gorgeous George!

The Stables are situated off a country track and surrounded by open unspoilt countryside. It has off the road parking for 3 cars and situated in the gardens of the main property. It has a vast decked area with a gas barbeque, sun loungers, chairs and table and hot-tub. This is an enclosed area so quite safe for any little ones. Through a gate and down a few steps you reach a full sized tennis court. Through another gate there is a outside heated swimming pool and sunning area. Through the gardens you find a 8 acre paddock. Here there are 10 chickens, chicken house and run.
In every direction there is a walk to be conquered and a view to match!
High chair and travel cot are available on request.
Dogs are very welcome but there is a limit of 2. A separate charge of £20.00 per pet is required to cover extra cleaning costs. Dog beds and bowls are available on request.
A welcome pack is provided with essentials - bread, eggs,marg, milk, wine etc....
The swimming pool is open from June to September depending on weather.
As The Stables is located in the grounds of the main house there will nearly always a representative available for any queries or problems.
The West Country region
The Stables are situated 5 miles from Bath and 10 miles from Bristol with its historic docks including the HMS Great Britain and of course Bristol Zoo. There are the famous caves of Cheddar Gorge and Wookey Hole about 30 km away where children can let their imagination run riot. Longleat Safari Park and Stone Henge are also fairly close by and make great days out. Somerset has so many more things to offer.......
Bath is a designated world heritage site. With its impressive Georgian grandeur and beautifully preserved Roman Baths and hot springs, this city never fails to impress. With the Royal Crescent, Pump Rooms, Pultney Bridge, The Circus and Assembley Rooms this is a historians dream! With its connections to Jane Austen and its quaint alleyways filled with designer boutiques and award winning bars and restaurants it can also be a very romantic city. It is home to the Theatre Royal where you will find West end shows regularly performed. The Thermal Bath Spa is a fairly new addition to Bath. This is where you too can enjoy the hot spring waters and relax on the roof top pool overlooking this beautiful city. Many visitors also enjoy the organised Ghost Walks around the city which take place in the evening for added atmosphere
There are 2 local golf clubs a short drive away and also Bath Race course within 1 mile walk where throughout the summer race nights are put on.
North Stoke is on the Cotswold Way and really does have fantastic views and walks. The Stables are situated on the side of a Roman Road and is surrounded with history. There is a church in the village dating back to the Saxon times.
The Beaufort Polo Club is about a 40 minute drive. Here between 27th April and 17th September, every weekend Polo is played. Situated amongst the tranquility and beauty of the Cotswold countryside, the speed and energy of the sport proves to be a vast contrast. Matches start usually at 3.00pm, so take a picnic, enjoy the surroundings and be enthralled by this fast moving exciting sport.
The famous Bristol International Balloon Festival is held on 8th August to 11th 2013 August. A 4 day festival of fun
set in the rolling parkland of Ashton Court where you can see over 100 Hot Air Balloons ascend. With lots of entertainment for all the family, it will prove to be a great day out.
2nd May - 6th May 2013 Badmington Horse Trials - a 20 min drive!!
October - November is one of the best times to visit Westonburt Arboretum where the autumnal highlights are on show and experience the changing colours of autumn first at hand.
From the end of November and through December Westonburt Arboretum has an illuminated trail where you walk through the famous enchanted wood. See Father Christmas with lots of festive excitement. Hear carols sung from local choirs and eat roast chestnuts with mulled wine! And throughout December any little ones can Help Santa find his Reindeer.
28th November - 15th December Baths Christmas Market is open, held next door to the Bath Abbey and Roman Baths and has previously attracted over 200,000 people from all over Britain. Its a Christmas shopping event not to be missed
