“Quality Accommodation in a lovely Rural Setting”

Reviewed 6 Nov 2015

Lovely barn conversion finished to a high standard. Well equipped and in a beautiful setting. We had a very relaxing extended stay (6 weeks - due to house move) and were pleased NOT to be treated like second class citizens because we had our dogs with us. The quality of the property and our welcome made what could outherwise have been a very stressful time a very pleasant. experience Many thanks!

Owner's reply: Thank you so much for your lovely review, we are very pleased you had such a wonderful stay and we look forward to welcoming you back. Kind regards Matt and Sarah

“Lovely barn in rural setting”

Reviewed 27 Jul 2015

The place and location were ideal for our long weekend break. The property is lovely, spacious, in very good condition, and has everything you need and more. There is a nice outdoor space with patio for the evening barbecue and a glass of wine looking out over the fields. The owners are very friendly and most helpfull. Located a short drive from local pubs, restaraunts, walks and places of interest.

Owner's reply: Thank you very much for your lovely review. We are glad you enjoyed your stay in Blackberry Barn and hope to see you again soon. Kind regards Matt and Sarah

“Very Comfortable Barn Conversion”

Reviewed 7 May 2015

These barn conversions are completed to a very high standard, very comfortable and equipped with everything you could need. The bathroom is particularly notable with a lovely big bath AND a wet area with rainfall shower and loads of hot water. All the rooms are very spacious and the bed and corner sofa very comfortable. The location is excellent for walking on the Cotswolds escarpment, with breathtaking views, and for historic houses at Berkeley Castle and Newark Park. The only problem during our stay was a flat smoke alarm battery, causing continual peeping, but the owner sorted this out very quickly and efficiently for us.

Owner's reply: Thank you very much for your lovely review of Blackberry Barn. We are glad you enjoyed your stay and look forward to welcoming you back in the future. Kind regards Matt and Sarah

“Beautiful Barn in rural setting”

Reviewed 5 May 2015

Had a lovely weekend break in Blackberry Barn. The barn has been furnished to a high standard and is very spacious. We were a couple with two Golden Retrievers and we had plenty of room. It was lovely to find a property that had a enclosed garden and an adjoining field with a footpath through it, we were fortunate when we stayed that there were no sheep in the field at the time. The barn had everything you needed, the only very minor thing that we couldn't find was a Shaver Point, maybe we were just not looking in the right place, it certainly wouldn't stop us from going back again.

Owner's reply: Thank you very much for your lovely review of Blackberry Barn. We are so glad you had a lovely stay and look forward to welcoming you back in the future. Kind regards Matt and Sarah

“Space, warmth, comfort”

Reviewed 23 Mar 2015

Staying in this beautiful barn was a true pleasure. The sheer space and tranquility was wonderful, and the underfloor heating (resulting in a steady warmth throughout the barn) was the icing on the cake. Facilities were generally excellent with reliable wifi, good quality TVs in the living area and bedroom, a HUGE bed with quality mattress and bedding, and a wet-room style shower but in a bathroom big enough to ensure the whole floor did not actually get wet, comfortable corner sofa, and books and a box of board games to keep you entertained too. Parking was good with a private gravelled drive spacious enough for 2 cars comfortably but if you didn't need to close the gate you could probably park up to 5. The other barn has its own gate and parking area. The one downfall for us was the smaller items in the kitchen. Although again excellent appliances such as dishwasher and washing machine were in place, the kettle was full of limescale and the filter broken, resulting in some gritty cups of tea; some of the non-stick pans were rather scratched - not surprising as the utensils mainly seemed to be metal; a few items didn't seem to be very clean; and some of the ceramic dishes were cracked. There was a good supply of cups, glasses, plates, sharp knives and quality cutlery. I was really torn whether the above points should reduce my rating from 5 to 4, but overall the place really is exceptional and I expect they will get these smaller things sorted out. I would definitely be delighted to stay again, but would not plan to cook as often next time.

Owner's reply: Thank you very much for your review. I'm glad you had a lovely stay in Blackberry Barn. Thank you for your comments regarding kitchen equipment. I am sorry you found this not up to standard. We take our customer reviews very seriously and have now replaced all our kitchenware. We have provided new frying pans, saucepans, baking trays, cooking utensils and a new kettle. We have also provided a new condiment set containing balsamic vinegar, olive oil and salt and pepper mills. We hope you will consider us for any future breaks. Kind regards Matt and Sarah

“Fantastic accomodation, great holiday”

Excellent accommodation, well equipped, and very comfortable. Very accessible for wheelchairs Lots to do in the area without having to travel too far

“luxurious and tranquil”

Reviewed 25 Aug 2014

stay with my husband who is wheelchair bound found the property it self to be very spacious & well equipped with a wonderful wet room, just 2 negative being advertised as wheelchair accessible unfortunately the pathway around the barn to the entrance was stone and slate shingle which was unsuitable for the wheelchair to move on, luckily we had are our own ramp which I placed onto their ramp and he went around on the grass, I think it would be a good idea if this was a sold surface which would make it then accessible for wheelchairs. the other small negative is that it would be handy if the bed was raised from the floor so it would make it more accessible for anyone who needs to use a hoist . still a lovely property and would stay again.

“spacious warm and well equipped”

Reviewed 21 Feb 2014

One daughter and 2 elderly parents visited...A pleasant warm inviting space, accessible for people with mobility problems, easily accessible from the M5(ten minutes drive). Everything you could need. a warm home from home. The beds were very comfortable, even the fold out bed kindly fetched over for use was extremely comfortable) the shower great too ( maybe a rail to hold onto might have been more advantageous for the elderly but understand the cosmetic implications) .There are trains running not so far away which might disturb the lighter sleepers like myself but all in all couldn't ask for a nicer spot. Would certainly go again and recommend to anyone.

“First class accommodation, location and definately recommend!”

Reviewed 13 Jan 2014

We went there for christmas to get away and have a peaceful and relaxing few days. It was first class, the most enjoyable christmas for a few years. What made it was everything really. We were made so welcome by Sarah and Matt, they couldnt have done any more for us. The accommodation is super, clean, comfortable and has absolutely everything from a can opener to washing machine, all the utensills you have at home! The barn was very warm and cosy and they even put up a christmas tree and lights, thank so so much! Only one thing that could have made it just a tiny bit more comfortable would have been another small two seater sofa but no big deal. The location is wonderful, rural, peaceful no pressure, no noise no hassle. Loved the duvet set that much, had to go and buy one when i got back lol! Well will we go back, that is the question? Dam right we will, if they will have us again! Really really great retreat, thank you both!
