Description

The Elmfield is a lovely large Victorian villa with 9 en suite boutique style bedrooms. There is a large terraced garden with gazebo, barbecue and fire-pit. Inside there is a Freeview TV lounge with separate kids play area. There is a large commercial kitchen and dining room with tables and chairs to seat 24. Out front there is a private off street car park with 10 spaces. Great for walkers and cyclists the house is just off the south west coastal path and nation cycle route 27. Ilfracombe's stunning harbour area is a short walk with fabulous restaurants and pubs. The indoor heated swimming pool is open year round.

The garden has some lovely long reaching views over the Wilder valley, and the Wilder brook runs at the bottom of the garden. The Elmfield is available for Self catering hire. Caterers and staff can be arranged for special occasions. The Elmfield is licensed for weddings and is ideal for an intimate family celebration.

Originally built as a gentleman's residence for a wealthy victorian spring water merchant, The Elmfield is a large comfortable house which is perfect for getting family and friends together. We are minutes from the Tunnels wedding venue and a great value option for wedding parties.

Close to the coastal path the house is an ideal base for groups on a walking holiday. Ten minutes walk from Ilfracombe harbour we are perfect for sea fishing and boat hire. For beach activities, tunnels beach with it's amazing rock pools and tidal bathing pool are literally a stones throw away, and for surfing, kite surfing and coasteering we are just a short drive away from the super surfing beaches of Woolacombe, Croyde and Saunton.

House rules

The Elmfield is a very sociable house - our communal areas are great for getting together for a celebration or party. We don;t accept bookings where all the group members are under 25. We do allow live/amplified music however in the garden music needs to be turned off by 11pm - likewise the pool should not be used after 11pm unless for quiet swims. We do not allow glass to be taken into the poolhouse.

“The elmfield ilfracombe devon”

Elmfield is very spacious and roomy house. We had 18 in our family party and with 9 bedrooms and plenty of reception rooms we always had space. The dining room was especially roomy. The covered heated pool was brilliant and was used every day. Very clean and well maintained. The friendly owner was also on hand in case there were any problems. I would thoroughly recommend a stay at the elmdield with its close proximity to the town and all it has to offer.

We booked Elmfield to get the whole family together to celebrate my Mum's 70th birthday. We are 4 siblings each with our own children so finding a place big enough to get us all around the table was difficult. Once we found Elmfield we knew it was the place for us and we weren't wrong. Our kids all loved the pool and my brother especially loved being the bar man in our private pub. the owners were very helpful and the catering provided by Lisa at the local cafe was excellent. it certainly was a week of lovely forever memories.

How do damage deposits work?
