Description

Villa Petropolis has been standing there for some centuries. The Greek government and the department of argeology has regognized the building as a unique authentic Cretean house and has overseen all the effort of restoration. An Italian architect supervised the time consuming work of desplacing the stones, numbering them, stabilizing the wall and them placing them back on the wall. The floor was escavated going two meters down removing the earth cleaning the foundations and reinforcing them by well ironarmed concrete beams. An earth wake frequency vibrated machine was used to measure the strength of the structure after the restoration. A well in the house was turned into a wine cellar, with Greek bottled wine some of it dated as back as 35 years old.The floor of the villa in the lobby is entirly made out of triplex glass and the well turned into a wine cellar and also an exibition of differnt stones some of them with epitaphs and tools of an old era decorate the place. is eluminated

The upper part of the villa was build in the year 1929 as testified by the initials of the owner at the time, including the date of year of the construction encraved on a corner stone in the exterior wall. In the lobby the wood in the ceiling must be some centuries old. Stone, iron and wood dominate the villa. All doors of the villa are made out of cedar wood and the windows glasses are vitro.Three suites, four bathrooms and an exceptionally decorated lounge area that incudes a dinning, livingroom, kitchen and a massive functionable fireplace complete the picture. If you are looking for a unique experience and a sence that you are living in an museum, villa petropolis is ready to wellcome and spoil you with all the modern amenities without loosing its ancient look and beauty.
