Beautiful villa in a beautiful part of Crete

We travelled to Greece in early July with our 15-month-old daughter; the villa was a home from home and suited our needs perfectly. We booked the villa via email with George; he made the process so easy, he answered all our questions, gave helpful directions from the airport and gave some great suggestions of things to do within the area. Set in a small Greek village the villa was of a high standard, with 4 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, spacious living and pool area it was prefect. The villa was decorated to a high standard, with all the essentials required, air con in every room and lots of natural light. There wasn’t cable TV but this didn’t bother us as we were there to enjoy the glorious weather and spend time together as a family. With a small child we did find that the washing machine was a great help and went home with very little washing! A benefit as I’m a busy mum at home! Within walking distance were a supermarket and bakery but just a short drive and there are more shops. We can highly recommend the Greek bakeries; the pastries and breads are delicious. We were welcomed to the villa by the family with pastries and drinks, which we thought was a lovely touch. They showed us round the villa and were on hand to answer any questions we had, we felt immediately at home. It was a short drive into Rethimon, which was a busy town with lots of shops and restaurants. With easy parking options it was effortless with a small child, you can also book boat trips from this area. We drove to Elafonissi beach, which we would highly recommend, a beautiful beach in beautiful surroundings. The sand has hints of pink and the water is crystal clear and streaches out for miles, well worth the drive and visit. As this is such a beautiful beach it does get busy but we found that it wasn’t over crowded even in the height of summer. We enjoyed staying at the villa and are thinking about a return trip, possibly next year. We would highly recommend the villa, George and his family were delightful hosts and we have wonderful memories of our 1st holiday with daughter. … see more
Villa Elia-Family villa with private pool
Lovely villa in an authentic setting

We were well looked after by the owners who were absolutely charming throughout, from booking to leaving. The villa itself was very nice and clean with a good size very clean, pool. Likes:- Location - you in the the middle of a proper Cretan village, not a tourist hell-hole. You have a small supermarket and bakery just round the corner. Tavernas and good Pizza take-away just a few meters further up the street which were all great. Another, larger supermarket is also within walking distance approx 100m. - Weather - was wall to wall sunshine and mostly hot but not unbearably so. Air-con in the bedrooms was great. - Terrace - lovely views, great to start your evening here with a drink. - Beaches - head south for stunning views and lovely sandy beaches and clear water. Locally there is a nice little shingle, rocky cove at Petre heading west on the highway, only 10 min drive, it is great for snorkelling but beware of the beach bar music! Dislikes - I don't feel any negative feelings towards the holiday but I could point out one or two things that are not clear in the blurb:- - The sister villa's pool is adjacent to this villas, separated by a fence and flowering climbing plants so you do experience noise from the other guests. In our case it did not cause a problem and I think the owners would've 'had words' with them if we had. - There is no shallow end in the pool. - Greek plumbing - it is sadly still the case that you must put your toilet paper into a bin rather than flushing it away. A shock initially but you soon get used to it. - Bathrooms - if you're fully occupied then there's four sharing a bathroom. Could do with an extra shower room/toilet somewhere. All in all it was a wonderful holiday and we had a great time. The local people were so welcoming and we really enjoyed trying all the local dishes in the tavernas. Wonderful Villa, excellent Host, lovely Views

We have just returned from a wonder stay at Villa Iokasti. Our host litsa was very welcoming and informative. Beautiful views from the Villa of the sea and neighbourhood. Father-in-law brought us fresh eggs, and home grown vegetables. Mother-in-law made delicious home made greek lunch and cake, so very kind and generous. Fantastic area to explore. Plenty of bakeries, supermarkets and Lidle is just five minute drive away. Lokasti is such a lovely villa, with everything you need, kept spotless! Would thoroughly recommend staying here.
