The Cotswolds region

The Cotswolds area is one of England's favourite destinations; famous for hundreds of honey-colour limestone villages in a beautiful rural setting. With no theme parks or long queues for 'rides', the Cotswolds is a restful sort of place where time slips away happily and a Blackberry is something that you make jam with.

But don't think there's nothing to do. A typical day in the Cotswolds will see visitors enjoying everything from Archery to Zorbing.

“We didn't want to leave Church View”

Reviewed 10 Aug 2016

Driving to Leighterton was a good start to begin this holiday. The people we met in Leighterton where very kind in helping us in the right direction to Church View. Arriving after a long day driving couldn't be better. The view on the Church and the beautifull cottage were perfect. We stayed in the cottage for 9 days and had a lovely holiday. The owners were very helpfull and we could even use their washingmachine. I can recommend this cottage to everyone. The combination between location, helpfull owners and the cottage itself made our holiday perfect.

Thanks for your review. We are so pleased you enjoyed your holiday.

“Lovely village and pub but pity about bathroom”

Reviewed 26 Jun 2016

Lovely village location with friendly pub and cat. Shower(over bath) and bath inaccessible because of tight location, no handrails, notices not to hold taps or radiator and no bathmat. Mould in bathroom and filthy oven. Lights in the living room flickered so we had to sit in the kitchen in the evenings on hard chairs. Very convenient location to see the Cotswolds.

We are so sorry to hear you had some issues with your holiday and also disappointed that you didn't contact us at the time as we could have rectified most of the issues immediately. The lights in the lounge only flicker if you dim the switch. They are energy efficient lights which flicker on low dim, but are fine on high. This has never been an issue for guests in the past but we will put a note on the switch to advise guests not to dim in future. The oven was cleaned before your arrival and we would have happily cleaned it again if you were not satisfied. The guests at the cottage following your stay did not have any issues with the oven. We will be replacing all the appliances later this year. Regarding the bathroom, we have never had any complaints about accessibility before. We understand one of your party was on crutches. We do state that the house is not appropriate for guests with disabilities. It is clear from the house description that the shower is over the bath. Following your feedback we have replaced the small area of grout that had some mould. We thank you for your feedback and would recommend that you speak to owners during your stay in future so that minor issues can be resolved and not impact your enjoyment. Best wishes

“Excellent converted barn in a beautiful village.”

Reviewed 20 Jan 2016

This is a charming well equipped cottage in a delightful village close to the Cotswolds. We enjoyed touring the area and particularly our visit to Westonbirt which is very close by. The pub is only a couple of hundred yards away and serves great food. The owners, who live next door, were very welcoming and helpful and it has it own rear garden area. We had a lovely relaxing break.

“Spacious, well equipped house in a beautiful area; great base to explore this part of England!”

Reviewed 3 Aug 2014

We stayed here with our three young children for 11 nights in July. Church view is a beautifully decorated barn; clean, spacious and very well equipped. It is located in an ideal area, easily accessible to many nearby sights and attractions, provided you have a car. The weather during our stay was excellent which added to our very enjoyable holiday and we would highly recommend this property to family and friends alike.

“Delightful, modern cottage in a picturesque village”

Reviewed 1 Aug 2014

We really enjoyed our break in this lovely well equipped cottage. Jo made us very welcome and the village is within easy reach of the beautiful Westonbirt Aboretum, Badminton and of course the Cotswolds. There a good pub/restaurant in the village and the town of Tetbury is about 4 miles away with a large supermarket and many interesting antique shops. This is a charming area and we hope to return to Church View soon, just hope Jo can order the same fab weather we had this time.

“A delightful cottage, peacefully situated and well-equipped”

Reviewed 30 Jun 2012

A small, quiet, village off the beaten track,Leighterton - which boasts a duck pond and a pub - is conveniently situated for Tetbury, Malmesbury and other Cotswold towns. The cottage, which is next door to the owners' house, is spacious, clean and well-equipped with comfortable beds and a sheltered garden area with seating. We can highly recommend it as a base for exploring the area.
